TLT-1 battery pack conversion?

Hey everyone. I was thinking of getting a TLT truck within the next month, but I had a question about the batteries. Is there any way to convert the TLT-1 to take stick packs?
I'd rather not spend the money for those over priced Tamiya specialty packs.

THANKS

I just went through the same purchasing process. Tamiya has you covered if you want to use stick packs:

But the Rockbuster is a much better deal. by about $30. In order to run a "normal" battery rather than the Tamiya TLT specific one you need to build your own packs with 3 batteries in front and 3 in back and all of the electronics center mounted in the truck. Check around and you'll see some pics of trucks built using batteries in this configuration. It improves handling and lowers the cog slightly to have the batteries mounted that way.

You can also build 6-SC cell packs in a "six-pack" configuration and just stick them in the back batt compartment. This is not as good as the 3-front/3-back configuration as far as weight distribution, but it lets you keep your electronics in the front tray...
