M18 or M18 Pro

When the RS4 Micro came out I got one right away. I ended up selling and keeping my 1/10 cars instead. I have always regretted selling it ever since. I am now looking to get back into micros. I am just wondering if I should the M18 or the Pro. It would just be used to run around the house or racing with buddies.

I mean if I did get the M18, I still would need to update the chassis to run a 300 and 6 cell battery, right? So I might as well just get the Pro. Yes?

But if it’s just to have fun with friends I could just run a stock motor and a 5 cell?

I’m so confused... LOL

Thanks, Dennis

The M18 Pro is a very nice car and is designed primarily for carpet racing. The one area that seems to be lacking is the selection of tires. The Pro uses bolt-on micro wheels and currently only Xray make and sell these and they only offer foams. There seems to be substantial demand for rubber tires but so far no word from Xray on availability.

The original M18 is a wonderful play car and with a few upgrades can be made into an excellent race platform. The goos news is that these can be bought quite cheap now with the Pro on the market. If you plan to stick with rubber tires, stock motor and 5-cell packs then you really don't need to do anything. The car runs perfectly in stock configuration with that setup. If you want to get a bit more serious, then you can always buy the Exotek graphite chassis (around $65) and customize to your budget and liking. Loads of options out there to upgrade.

Good info. So now I'm leaning more toward the M18 based on the fact I can run any micro wheels and rubber tires. I can also get a M18 and a upgraded (blue) pro chassis for about the same or even less then I can buy a PRO for.

Thanks, Dennis

Dennis - have a look at the following link for a great deal on two used Ma8 cars with extras. You may need to register on RCTech.net to view.

Thanks again. But one of the main reason I not getting a MRS4 or a used M18 is becuase I really want a kit. I want to build it myself.
