what do you mean homer the moulds or the shells?
the moulds are made from renshape ,and the shells are made in lexan 0,75-1mm
I got the "how to" from true scale http://www.truescaleproducts.com/orgindex.htm he had one on his web site fore some years ago

For my plugs, I started using renshape just over a year ago. Prior to that I was using clay to make my originals.

clay!! how the h*** did you do that, i mean to get the mould equal on both sides
I use 2D pictures that i fit in width and wheelbase

looks like you have a nice workshop.
You should consider making 1/12 & 1/10th scale lids.
I'm working a few myself for my collection - when I find a moment in life's busy schedule.

At the moment my vacuumtabla is to small  just making the moulds is time consuming like h*** + that i need to build a bigger vacuumtable,heater,frame
looked at some smaller versions of the Fomech vacuumforming machine $$$
