i used the 55 and am not happy with it due to centering issues. it mounted exactly like the stock. no shoe goo, no cutting off tabs. i did, however take the servos apart so i could use the stock servo saver and it has been a pain ever since to center. i am getting the 85mg and dremeling the chassis. much better solution i think.....

I am starting the install of a S3101, and I don't see any way it will fit without dremeling out the little ridge that seperates the battery compartment from the servo spot. I guess I don't mind doing this, but I read that the 3101 would fit with no modification to the chassis.
Can someone post some good pix of their 3101 (or other) servo installs?
Thanks!

thats odd my s3101 just fit right in. i had to use some servo tape to mount it but i didnt have to trim the chassis at all.

Here is a pic of my S3101 trying to fit in the stock place. I am sure I need to cut out the "Cut here?" area, because even if it didn't hit at the "Hits here" location, the output shaft of the servo would be too far forward to match up where the steering connects.
Any pix of the "drop in" installation for this servo?

Seriously guys, grab the Dremel and go to! The steering is much faster this way, and you actually get a real servo saver. If your worried about your upright strength, graft a piece of graphite onto it with CA glue or Shoo Goo. I spent 2 weeks in the hopital (not micro related) thinking this one over. It works great, an mymymyyyy how jealous everyone else is.

i know having a faster stronger servo is always nice, i race 1/8 scale buggies and a nitro monster truck. but is the stock servo bad enough to want or need to change out a speed control and rx just to get a servo? seems pretty drastic, ive only had mine a few days , i hate to think about dropping another 100 or so just to make it competitive, i already have a venom 6 cell and a orion bigblock. the thing isnt perfect but it seems to steer relitivly well.

My mod is all because I wanted to use a different RX, so one of my Micro RS4's could share a TX with the Mini-T - that snowballed into all new electronics because of the goofy non standard stuff Losi put in this thing. The S3101 install wasn't really all that bad after all...

ahh well thats enough to probubly cover a rx or a basic speed control just about. may not be such a bad idea before i get to much runtime on it and cant claim "new never used" anymore

I got $25 for a used TX, RX, servo.... I screwed up - I listed it with buy it now for $24.99 and it sold in about 2 hours... I didn't think it would bring that much. Live and learn....
