Your problem is likely a result of the plastic diff gears not being able to withstand the brushless power. If shimming doesn't help then you might have to get the metal diff gears and the carbide balls also as the stock ones tend to get flat spots after a while. Also using bigger wheels changes you final gear ratio, the car will be faster and there will be more stress on the motor and drivetrain. Try decreasing your pinion or increasing your spur gear a couple teeth and see how it goes.
