I've tried 12, 14, and 16T so far. And I haven't noticed so much difference in top-end speed. My setup is quite heavy with 8 AA cell pack to begin with, and I think the AA cell is not made to provide...

The controller was $132 + $6 for S/H. But with Euro so much appreciated, I'm not sure how much it sells for these days. The motor was originally $130 + free shipping....

I've been lucky with all Craftsman products, and this one is said to be good for up to 1,000F. Of course, you need to get a smaller tip to work better with most hobby soldering needs though....

I believe the shaft diameter of the Lehner 10 series motor is 3.17mm, same as the 1/10 scale RS540 motor. Get one of 48 pitch pinion gears from RRP or Trinity - I personally perfer RRP pinions cause...
