sorry, no pictures, but its easy to do, if you look at your car from the front/back, the links go from the bottom of the diff case (just behind the spur gear) to the bottom of the c-hub/steering...

you can also move the links to the top of the diff case and top of the steering knuckles to get the same effect and its easier to adjust not only the shims, but the adj linkages too...

no.... because these motors do not have a commutator to charge different segments at different times, the controller must do it (they have 3 wires, ,not 2) the controller switches the segments...

yes, and yes.. you might have to drill out the pinions.. cuz the shaft is 1/8 size.. and.. if you use normal 48p pinions, you have to either make a flat spot on the shaft, or use loctite to glue...
