eZrun motor combo and batteries

hello everyone...if there is anyone

I just bought a second hand hpi micro drift with the D-box and hard tires. It's stock with no mods and I want to make it go fast, REALLY FAST!:D I'm planning on buying thins brushless combo:

I need to know if this motor will fit in the rs4 and where i can get the proper motor mounts for this combo. Also will i need to buy another receiver or can I just use the stock one.

I'm also gonna need something to power the brushless, so tell me if you guys know any sites that sell cheap lipo batteries and chargers.

Basically my plan is to get the the thing going as fast as possible (on a low budget:rolleyes:).

Any info is greatly appriciated:)

lipo battery will make it insane.. but i suggest upgrading doggy bones, ball diff . i don't know if that motor will fit stock motor plate buy a quick look on ebay will get ya what ya want

I agree the can looks a bit too long....it might or might not fit. If the motor doesnt that you can always sell it right. But if you plan on going fast then i suggest upgrading the bones as mentioned above and using a balldiff as well.

Thanks for the info, guess now i gotta add ball diff and dog bones to the list:rolleyes:

Well anyways has anyone ever had any experience with this brushless combo or the company, is the motor realiable, any heat problems when running 3 cells.

Im also planning on getting these lithium batteries

They are awfully cheap...a little too cheap, so I don't really know what to expect:(. What do you think ?

Oh yeah, does anyone know if micro steering servos will fit in the micro rs4, the stock servo is pretty fat and I broke the part where the srew goes in  so now I'm using toothpicks to hold it together

One more thing, does anyone know what kinds of speed I could expect from the brushless and lipo, 60 mph maybe? Or is that pushing it ?

thrasher77 12-13-2009 05:45 PM

i have a little knowledge with the tekin system 6800 and the mamba 8000. not much for heating problems altho i did kill a lipo battery , and for speed.. i'd say maybe 50 mph.. but can u control a micro doing those speeds..? i find that any little bump, tweak, pebble or wind will throw it off course in a split second..

oh and MAKE SURE TO GLUE UR TIRES brushless seems to spin them off... or the adjustable rims.. them seem to spin off too so make sure they fit nice and tight , any aluminum parts u have make sure to loctite the screws cuz they may come loose :D
and ALWAYS DRIVE WITH THE BODY ON!

Hmmmmm... I just noticed something. How do you connect lipo batteries to the car, the connectors are totally different:confused:

alfred 12-13-2009 06:33 PM

You will have to change the connectors on the esc to match the pack that your using......and as for micro servos they will fit just as long as you have the micro servo kit.

Formula_1 12-13-2009 06:37 PM

Do you know any websites that would sell connectors for the lipo to the esc or micro servo kits ?

thrasher77 12-13-2009 06:39 PM

hmm for that kind of stuff your local hobby shop should carry it all
getting a pair of deans plugs are nice . for me i just use what ever connectors... size is always in question so don't use one too big or too small

There used to be a kit where it had all the parts you will need in one bag.....i guess you have to get both bags.

*sigh* the thing is I know only one hobby shop and it is pretty far from where I live and the lady there knew nothing about 1/18 rc cars (only trains and models etc.) and unfortunatly I can't go very far espeacially in the weather we are having:mad:.

Well before I order my parts I want to make sure. Will theses parts fit/connect with a fully stock rs4
