Well, don't worry. You can def. lower your charge time in diff. ways. So, don't dissmiss your purchase of a Propulse simply due to charge time :D 1. you can buy quick chargers from your local hobby shop (I did this and I can charge mine in about 20 minutes I think. 2. You can go to your local Radio Shack and buy their quick charger by propulse. 3. There are some threads that tell of diff. chargers you can purchase online. Hope this helps! |
O.k. thanks I prob. get a quick charger at my lhs.
I don't have the specs for the esc but what is the biggest 6-cell mah I can get? Or one you've tried that works? Also, can I get deans ultra plugs? |
it depends on the esc....some esc's will go up too 6 or more, it just depends..........and of course you can get deans put on........:D

I installed deans plugs on two of the pro-pulses I have. Those you can get from Tower or most better LHS's. |
Thanks guys. I was reading somewhere on this forum about someone using a 6 cell 3300 and he ran it for like an hour and a half but the motor fried.
So smc 6 cell ib 1400 battery packs would be good right? And anymore advice on bigger mah in 6 cell battery packs that worked good and nothing happened to the motor or esc would be great. I have DuraTrax IntelliPeak AC/DC Twin Pulse Charger for my e maxx and was wondering if that could charge one of the ib 1400? |

peak charging settings
hi, i just purchased the duratrax piranha digital peak charger and i was wondering what the settings should be. there is no documentation from propulse on how to charge, as expected, but there was very limited info from duratrax.
i am using the original 1200 battery from propulse, and i just cut my original charger lines so i could plug it directly into the battery. i have set the mAH to 1200 0.5 A 8mV/C i don't want to blow up my batteries, but it seems like i'm not getting a full charge on the batteries. i'm only running for 5 minutes then it dies. a couple of questions. should i be using different connectors, deans?, what will those connectors do for me? what should i do to my settings to improve battery life? i have done searches, but i need to learn what i need to look for first. thanks for any help |
I'm using the Dynamite Prophet Plus LCD and I set it between 1 and 1.2 amps charge rate for my 1200 and 1400 batteries. I wouldn't go higher until the battery has been cycled several times and 2amp is as high as I might go. At 1 amp the battery will take about hour and half to charge.
Charging at half amp will take longer but should give you longer run times. |
thanks for the advice. maybe i should look into picking up some new batteries then. i think i'll try the 1.0 amp and see what happens.
|
You can also charge the cells at 2amps for more punch.:D

charging a brand new cell at 2amps wont do any harm at all to the cells.........i cycle brand new batts this way.:D

:D Just as long as you dont go over 2amps you should be fine.........charging at 2amps will give you more voltage output then lets say charging at 1amps, but charging at 1amp will also give you more runtime as well.
