Motor sounding like a screaming girl....

Like the subject LOL....it's true it does...=)

I went to run my car this afternoon and the pinion came off...no big deal, I found laying right by the car, then when I ran the motor this gut renching sqeaky noice came from the motor. Just awfull noise.

Any ideas? I am stumbed. I haven't even run the motor 3 times yet.

You either burned up the windings of the motor.....or the motor just went bad....i have done this many times so i know what you mean.....Just replace the motor....nothing you can really do to fix it.;)

spray your motor out and lube the bushings.

alfred 12-20-2005 06:01 PM

Did you see white smoke coming from the motor.

Ruger 10/22 12-21-2005 10:22 AM

Nope no smoke just a sqealling noise. My dad think that the bushings are alittle big for the armeutar and it is vibrating in the bushings. :(

That's what i also suggest, that the bushings are worn out. This is quite normal after a certain time (the big advantage of bearings).

I have only run the motor 3 times after buying it new.....that is why I am so shocked.... :(

Ruger 10/22 12-21-2005 01:09 PM

I just got it last friday..... should I send it back to orion?

cesto 12-21-2005 01:21 PM

clean and lube the bushings

Mini-zMan 12-21-2005 06:03 PM

Listen to cesto. Just put a few drops of thin oil on both of the motor bushings and ull be set.

I have that problem with my new mini t motor, it squeals, has since I installed it

RadiShack 12-22-2005 02:47 AM

try thick grease on the bushings, you might be able to get away with it. most of the time when bushings worn out you should replace them. Your brushes and armeture is probaly all messed up already..

G-Shocker 12-22-2005 10:49 AM

@jw_j

If it's so loud since you installed it you should check the gear mesh. Too loud usually means too close.

Ruger 10/22 12-22-2005 12:15 PM

I went to call orion and they said that they were closed till January 2...bummer! Oh Well. Thanks for the replies....;)
