Mamba/Lipo Powered RC18B

Hey guys. Been a member here for a little while now, and apparently I have never started a thread for my 18B. It's nothing special. Started as a RTR, then I added an RPM bumper, FT shocks, 1/10 adapters, GRP foam tires, JConcepts Illuzion body, Mamba 5400 combo, Hyperion 20c 2s lipo batts, and an FM Hitec Aggressor radio system. Here are some pics of the buggy.

Nothing special? That is one hot-looking, well done buggy! It's posts (and pictures) like these that make me want an 18B soo bad! I bet it screams on pavement with those foams. What are your future plans for it?

Thanks for the compliments. It sees mostly carpet race track duty, but on occassion I do let her rip down the street. It moves out pretty good. With the right pinion, and the right settings on the ESC it will approach 40 mph. I don't really have any future plans for it other than to continue to race it, but I have considered getting the Exotek Tek18 kit for it.

Nice looking Buggy!

I like the idea of running 1/10th wheels, but do you have any problems with the steering and RPM bumper?

Here are some pics of my RC18B:

Factory Team Kit
GPM Hubs and Carriers
CC Mamba 25a ESC / 6400Kv Motor
Acoms 2.4GHz RX
60t Spur and 10t Pinion

Yeah I have never had any issues running 1/10 tires. They work perfectly.

Well other than a few packs through it in the last couple months my poor 18B was getting neglected since Action closed down so I thought I'd post up a few pics of it with its new shoes on that I scored at a garage sale the other day. I think they look pretty good. I haven't gotten a chance to run them yet, but I imagine they'll hook up just fine.

Now that looks awesome....so hows the handling on that sucker.

fastmax 05-16-2009 03:25 PM

Thanks a bunch man. With these tires I'm not real sure yet, but with all my other tires it drives like it's on rails.

alfred 05-16-2009 03:26 PM

Cool, when you give that sucker a test run let us know how it handles.;)

those foams looks killer! are they larger diameter than the jacos? i love my jacos when they're new, but they chunk FAST.

fastmax 05-16-2009 06:10 PM

These are actually Jaco tires. What type of surfaces are you running on that yours are chunking out so fast? Do you treat them with anything? Do you CA your sidewalls?

Alfred I'll be sure to report on the handling as soon as I get a chance to run it.
