Help with rc18, 1:10 wheels
I bought delrin 1:10 hex for my rc18.
And mounted LRP shark 1:10 wheels on it. The car is a lot more fun to drive.
But it eats rear differental gear. The front diff have never break down.
But i have trashed about 4 set of rear diff. Both the big diff gear, and the little gear on the main axel.

What could the problem be? I donīt want to buy steel diff gears.

And the car have orginal FT diffs.

You might need to shim the rear diff......seems to me like the rear diffs have some play in them. When you replace the gears and shim it please make sure that the diff is not too tight.

But you can drive 1:10 wheels on rc18 with orginal plastic diff gears?
And donīt need to buy steel diff gears?

When i meant replace the gears i mean with the stockers..........shim them and you should be good to go. I remember most if not all shimmed theres.

My neighbour have driven rc cars for 20 years. I think he knows how you do that.
New gears, and new schims in the diff. And it still donīt can take it.
So bought new gears again, and new schims. And change the back diff house, the plastic could be damaged. But no, it collapse again.

Yes, both i, and my neighbour have done that.
But can you drive rc18 with 1:10 wheels with stock plastich gears in the diff?

Your problem is likely a result of the plastic diff gears not being able to withstand the brushless power. If shimming doesn't help then you might have to get the metal diff gears and the carbide balls also as the stock ones tend to get flat spots after a while. Also using bigger wheels changes you final gear ratio, the car will be faster and there will be more stress on the motor and drivetrain. Try decreasing your pinion or increasing your spur gear a couple teeth and see how it goes.
