this article (http://www.eet.com/at/news/OEG20020404S0009) is cool.

here is just part of it.

"Altair claims that its nanosized lithium titanate spinel has exhibited charging and discharging rates 10-100 times higher than materials currently used in commercially available batteries.

The new material is also claimed to be fully rechargeable in less than one minute and could undergo charge and discharge cycles with little fade in capacity for thousands of cycles."

if there estimations are anywhere close to true we will be laughing at what it was like back in the days of nicd and nimh. I also hear good things about rechargable aluminum air batteries and fuel cells that are smaller than one tenth of an inch square that can power a cell phone for a month and we are talking about a drain of 2amps to 5 amps.

Aaahh!!! Geez, don't taunt me like that! You make me so hungry for good batteries now.:D :D
