I would go with a team epic because of the increased space i get when i turn the servo on it's side and mount the reciever on the right and the esc on the left. I also like the available 8 cell battery tie down from team epic. Also for 8 cells I would recommend a cheap GMV3R, and a big motor capable of handling 8 cells. A speed 300 will work and it will be fast but it won't last as long as a motor that is made for at least 7.2V.

The 7.2v speed 300 is not the motor that you want. Get the 6v. A member on this forum already tried the the 7.2 thinking that it's low rpm range would make up in torque, however this was not the case. The 7.2 is slow, you can run 8 cells on a 6v. It will run hot, but it is capable of running 8 cells.

I was told to go with a speed 300 brushless aircraft motor with a aircraft esc like the jeti esc thats ment for 8 cells. (His car was clocked at 46mph!!!)
