View Full Version : New HPI cars
Anyone check the HPI Japan website?
Looks like their new Nitro TC is the Tornado
and they're releasing a Super Electric.

The rtr equipment looks like a futaba jr. magnum, HPI usually uses airtronics electronics, I think it Hot Bodies who makes that.

hot bodies originally started a few years ago (`96?) making *gasp* bodies! They were based in southern california, and used a LOT of T&A in their advertising :D
however, I have no idea who actually owns them or where they are based now...

What you guys need to look at is that hpi is the japanese importer for HB, and it clearly states that the car is the Tornado: hint look at the http: addy! HB is owned by some american dude, and I think alot of americans are buying "generic buggies" and putting their names on them. Do you really think a company that makes some crappy a$$ silicone like GS could actually come up with the R@D for a 1/8 scale buggy, or HB for that matter. Hell GS cant even make silicone that lasts! think about it

A lot of US based companies import their stuff from overseas. That is obvious.
If you want an OFNA 1/8 buggy, and you live in Britian or it's surrounding land-masses, you'll be buying a HoBao. SAme machine, different name for it's exclusive importer for that region.
