Two quick questions (unless it turns into more by the time I finish typin... ) ;)

1. I've seen people say they run 20T pinions w/ speed400 motors with good success (I'm assuming they chose a motor w/ lower free rpm's)... anyway... where do you find huge pinions like that? ... or do you shim pinions for 540 motors?

2. I haven't attempted a speed 400 yet... still runnin my 300 w/ an 8-cell. I'd like to try a 400, but do I need a another plate for that?? If so, where do I buy it, or do i make it myself?

I think that's all for now. Thx! :)

1.- 48 pitch 1/10 scale pinions (at any OHS)+1/8" tubing
see www.danmarx.org/micro hopup section for mod details

2. 300 plate can be modified to fit 400 motor, also rear end need to be filed,(check same page for details) no 400 plate is available yet, you can make them and sell them to us:D

300 with 8 cells? what ESC are you using? how long have you been racing that motor?

Hey thanks for the info... I'll look into it. Now I have a use for the ton's of tiny 1/10 scale pinions im not using :)

As for the electronics, I'm using the GM v12 XC (highly recommended) that I grabbed on ebay for $70. (with a 10th scale GM 12t tripple)! Otherwise it is overkill for a micro, but its tiny, light, and runs ice cold on 8 cells. Oh... it handles up to 10 cells if u wanna go that high :)

I honestly haven't put a lot of time on the speed 300, so I can't say its gonna hold up to the abuse, but its the 6.0V motor, and the car MOVES. The motor does get warm by the end of a run, but I can keep my finger on it without getting burned, so... could be worse :)

how long u think it'll last?

yeh, and you can always opt for the GPs280bb that is known to handle 8cells and clocked at 38mph(?).

Anyway, if my 400 doesn't work out, that's my next venture.
