I have kind of asked this before but now that i've run at a track instead of tearing up and down the parking lot i'm concerned. I can run hard on a track for about 7mins before the motor is dangurously hot. I'm using a 13t p and a 1350Mah li-on batt.
How long can you guys run your elite hard before it's to hot? I've checked and double checked for rolling resistance, one blip of the throttle and it will roll on it's own down the back strait(35feet or so)

Try getting a heat sink. I may put a small computer fan in mine, i'll tell you how it goes.

I ran mine in a whole 10 minute main last week with a 13 tooth pinion and it was not even close to as hot as my HPI mod!

I like the computer fan idea as run time concerns with the elite are kind of mute point

try go down a pinion size first...

i would make sure everything is free rolling in your car, dude! the elite shouldn't get hot - i run a 14t pinion in mine. Your car, when pushed, should roll several feet.

14T with Elite mod, that must be going pretty fast...cool...

if i had a bigger pinion, i'd run it ... the coreless is a torque monster!

Haven't run it much but mine has stayed cool with a 13t pinion. As far as a computer fan, is that what Orion is using here?

The fan might take alot of power...

hpi also sells pinion gears 19-34 that fit the hacker brushless perfect.

robinson makes steel alloy , aluminum, and super light purple pinions. I just don't know the shaft diameter is. they go from 16 to 38 teeth. a 38 tooth with a brushless at top RPM is like 150-175 MPH! i just don't know if it has enough torque.

you just have to give it a boost, just give it a BIG push

Robinson Racing made so many cool stuff for HPI's Pro 2 and super nitro...

why not they make something cool for the micro...

that would be awsome..

A motor plate that could fit 15T - 17T pinion....

I think it would be an easy mod.

TFRMicro

we would need a bigger motor plate to fit the 15T-17T....

you could put the motor plate on before the pinion and the pinion could be right above the plate.
