I second that, I love how all these 'guests' post wondeful questions that the HPI Administrator can answer so easily. It is probably HPI posting as a 'guest' no doubt.

The forum is Richard Simmons ghey. Did you read the thread about run times on the Micro RS4? THe "HPI staff" was talking about 1500mah batteries vs. 3000 mah batteries!!!! Ya, it's a good thing I run a 6-cell Nicad pack in my micro. bahaahahahaha.....They could at least attempt to answer questions correctly.

I lost a lot of respect for HPI in this transition. It once again proves that they have no interest in serviing the needs of the consumer. They would rather take the quick cop out vs. actually doing something to help the R/C community. It's all about what is easiest for them, and costs them the least amount of money. ONe of the best things HPI ever did was have the original forum available for it's customers. It was the best micro community on the net (no offense to yourmicro.com.)

As a result of the board closing, we have lost a wealth of knowledge that will never be duplicated or recaptured. HPI deserves to be bitch slapped for the horrible things they have done to the Micro community. I value HPI like I value a used condom. I flush them down the toilet with anxst.

Tell me why they do these things to us? I don't mean to rant, but HPI's customer service makes Ofna seem good. I always wondered why my Micro RS4 came with a tube of KY Jelly.

Two thumbs down to HPI and their substandard service to the community.

lol funny, i agree, it is prolly hpi just being the guest and asking simple questions. And i think its pretty cheesy now, compared to before. New FAQ Forums = stupid

someone should post some real questions, ones where they will have to clean the cobwebs off of their empty minds and think of an answer

I really liked the old HPI forum. I also think that many micro lovers lost interest as soon as it was down. I know i did. Then i found this place. Hopefully other people will do the same. Thank you YourMicro.com!!!

Unfortunately it's posts like that which forced us to close the forum.

...and forums like this took the heat off us, we didn't really want to be the biggest R/C forum on the internet. Our forum just got too big and out of control. As a manufacturer we can't have new customers come to our site and view the arguments and %#$#$#^ cussing that was going on. The Micro forum was one of the best, but we didn't have the option of keeping just one or two of the forums, it was all or none.

Sorry about the lack of content and mistakes in the Micro FAQ section, I will personally bitch-slap Frank for that post about 3000mAh batteries. We'll try to get more Micro info posted. We still have all of the old threads.

BTW - HPI Staff, are you who are think you are? Did you attend the hobby people race with your roommate and son on Oct. 5th of this past year at Camarillo? If so, I'm the dumbass who pitted with/next to you that shattered the driveshaft in my nitro rs4's 2 speed, and since I sent it in almost 2 months ago, I've still not received a replacement?!?! What's up!

So its about your image eh? So then why don't you keep the loyal enthusiasts happy, and keep the board? Why don't you show that HPI is open to suggestion and critisizm. I really find it hard to believe that new customers will get "turned off" by seeing open discussions about a product. So what if the board causes more work for you? Hire some full time web content moderators. Geesh....

Its decisions like this, made by certain marketing heads in HPI, that are reflecting a poor, "F-You" attitude that HPI is beginning to have toward its enthusiasts. I even know one of the people who is responsible for this closing. I won't name this person in particular, but I know they continue to perpetuate an elitist attitude, one that says something like: "We're so cool, that we don't have to listen to our customers, and we'll continue to milk this loyalty for all its worth."

So its about your image eh? So then why don't you keep the loyal enthusiasts happy, and keep the board?

Because stupid people post porn photos on weekends and holidays, or argue constantly about every little thing. Then people come to our site with the sole intention of bashing our products. When a new customer sees that kind of thing there is a good chance that he/she will never buy our products.

Why don't you show that HPI is open to suggestion and critisizm.

We have already shown that, we hosted the most active r/c forum on the internet for 3 years, and we were more open to our critics than any company that I know of. Several other companies that don't have forums told us we were crazy to have the forum. Novak shut theirs down, Trinity shut down for a while and now polices it heavily, Serpent has limited their forum to just registered Serpent owners. Traxxas followed our lead, and now they are experiencing the same problems we saw on our forum. The busier it gets the worse it is.

I really find it hard to believe that new customers will get "turned off" by seeing open discussions about a product.

Open discussions are no problem, it was all of the other negative aspects of the forum that made us shut it down. If it was possible to keep the good and delete the bad, we would have done it. Our new FAQ Forum is the best solution we could find to highlight the good points about the hobby, allow people to ask us questions, and provide important answers for everyone to see and learn from.

So what if the board causes more work for you? Hire some full time web content moderators. Geesh....

Sure, what do you care if we work on weekends, evenings and holidays? Try it sometime for a few years, I did and it's not so great to be held hostage by an extremely active forum that is constantly on the verge of turning into a flame war.

Its decisions like this, made by certain marketing heads in HPI, that are reflecting a poor, "F-You" attitude that HPI is beginning to have toward its enthusiasts.

I made the decision, it certainly wasn't made lightly. Part of the reason it had to be closed was because people came on our nice forum with an "F-You" attitude and offended our customers. We care about that kind of thing, unfortunately the bad guys ruined it for everyone.

I even know one of the people who is responsible for this closing. I won't name this person in particular, but I know they continue to perpetuate an elitist attitude, one that says something like: "We're so cool, that we don't have to listen to our customers, and we'll continue to milk this loyalty for all its worth."

I made the decision. If you knew me, you would know that I pride myself on fighting for the rights and needs of our customers. You seem to think that we no longer care and that we will be completely out of touch with our customers, that's completely wrong. We still read other forums, go to races, trade shows, talk to customers on our FAQ forum, through private email, through our customer service department, and we also use our dealer/distributor network for valuable feedback. Very few companies have forums, yet they do just fine. We gave it our best try for a few years, learned a lot, and decided that there are enough forums like this one that allow people to chat about our products. That allows us to concentrate our efforts on answering questions instead of policing the forum 24/7. I spend about 90% of my time helping people now, before I used to spend 90% of my time just keeping the forum from going out of control.

Hpi did have a great forum before. it is sad that they shut it down but look at all the time they spent replying/defending themselves in this forum. this shows that they do see what is going on and did what they felt is best for their employees (sp?) and customers to a certain extent. just look at it from their point of view cuz all most of us do is post and wait. they actually have to work.

in conclusion:
just accept it and move on

thats how i feel
