Does anyone know if the wires from the HPI mod are thick enough for the Orion elite mod??

It should be fine.

team-orion suggests 20awg. The elite mod only draws 1.5A at full load.

and the speed 300 draws 1.28amps for 6V....just to let you know.....:D
Ya, the HPI mod wires should be ok...

I ran 14 gauge wire on my Speed 300 just because I thought it looked cool. Probably didn't gain any major advantage in using it though.

Hmm....I may have to check again, but my Graupner 300 box says 5A.
*EDIT*
current drain at max efficiency = 5A.
thats direct from the box for my graupner 300.

I was gonna say the same thing. That's at max efficiency, which I think is 65%. So it would draw somthing like 7.7

You'll be fine bro, go ahead and wire it up.

i got 1.28amps from the HPI forum....
somebody dyno'ed' the speed 300 motor on each Volt
and at 6V, it draws 1.28amps.

Someone probably just did a current check on it, not dyno'd it. Dyno's measure HP & Torque not current and voltage.

oh....hahaha...i never knewn that...
If someone wants to see that thread again...
search for amp draws in the HPI forum.

Ok, but WHICH 300 motor. Mine is an actual graupner 300. I've seen ones that are by mabuchi, simprop, and others.

I'm not sure then...
CooLjoe, I'm going to buy a speed 300, which brand should I get?
and should i get the plastic endbell or the metal one?
