I wonder if it is just glued together. If it is then you should be able to heat it up and break the seal. I still think the dude should call GH on it. Might have been just a bad part, or maybe he picked up some sand from the street.

The dude is me LOL. I just didn't feel like retyping the whole thing here. I was thinking the same thing about it being glued. We will see what happens when I tear it apart.

I would just hate to tear it apart and find out that now that I opened it up I can not return it.

Other cents do you have a contact number or E-mail for GH?
Tried Google and didn't come up with anything for GH or Golden Horizon.

Not going to mess with it until I hear from GH or store owner.

I was thinking about getting one, but I think I'll wait to see if anyone else is having similar problems.

here is their phone also: TEL: (604) 331-2526

King, yes you can get sand in it. It is sealed together, but not sealed like a bearing is (even though I have pulled sand out of some of my roller blad bearings).

I've had the front ball diff in my car since last week, and played with it indoors over the weekend (because it was raining outside).. at first, the diff was really stiff, but after a few runs, it smoothed out a bit... still not quite as smooth as my stock diff yet... but I'm sure it'll get there.... the diff does not look glued together, so there's little chance of opening it... Mine has not seized up, so I'm still keeping my fingers crossed...

Had the same problem with the GPM universal pin popping out. Used tiny amount of CA to hold it in. Here is the pin and gouging if you can see it.

This is kinda on the subject, but something to fix the CVD versions problem. I run nitro most of the time and every once in a while the CVD pin will actually work its way loose. One of the fixes that I put on the car to help hold it in place, but more to help me see the problem before it gets bad and causes damage, is to put heat shrink around the cvd..just the cup, and just a small piece. This will help to keep the pin in place when it starts coming loose. It will still work its way out, but it might take 10 runs instead of one to do this. You might want to try something like this if you are running the CVD versions. It works great, and if you do it right can be very light and colorful. I hope this helps out some of you guys.

Thanks Dan.:) That is really a great little tip. Same concept(fuel tubing) that I use to hold my clevis'on my model airplanes. Duh! didn't think of it in this case.LOL
