Seriously... that thing took forever and a day to see the light of day. Good to hear that it's coming in kit form. It looks way more elegant than the TLT-1 that's for sure. Ball diffs?!? Hrmm.

tower says...

mid november for rc18t
and it WAS early october for the quake, but they pushed it to mid october last time i checked

a friend of mine pointed out that front guard on the MMT might become troublesome when crawling...
but i also noticed its only shown in the first picture, anyone know more about this?

I can assure you with hours of testing the front bumper doesnt get in the way. I have a video, but I need to find the link. I'll try to post it tomorrow.

Very impressive... I told mself I wasn't going to add another RC vehicle to my collection (my wife will kill me) but it looks like I might have to hide this one somewhere

The site is up.... are you going to ptiracing.net?.... remember it's .net not .com

The opening pic is still the prototype truck though... not the production truck

BTW Gwar... the only hopups that are on that truck in the video (if I'm not mistaken) are the sway bars

Mobil1
10-19-2004, 01:22 PM
Thats almost correct Akura. That car is bone stock except for sway bars, wheels, and tires. The kit will have come with a different combination.

Our website is very close to being a full overhaul, so be prepared for a whole new site in the next few days, and its www.ptiracing.net .

yup i did. and now instead of typing the ptiracing.net or www.ptiracing.net, i clicked the link that mobil1 gave.

so all of the drivetrain and suspension is going to be the same? also is it going to be in a kit or RTR form? any projected release dates? I have to have one!!!

Akura2

Initially a kit (including 550 motor) End of October (approx. release date)... and the drivetrain and suspension should be very much like, if not identical to the one in the video and the pics I posted on One18th (with the plastic axles)

for those who have not seen it, or those too lazy to look on one18th...

pic comparing the TLT and the PTI

We've done some comparisons to give you guys an idea of what the MMT looks like versus the Tamiya TLT.

Weight (fully loaded):

TLT- 4 lbs 11.4 oz
PTI- 3 lbs 4 oz

Articulation (three wheels on the ground):

TLT- 115mm
PTI- 130mm

Ground Clearence (in the center with the same size tires)

TLT- 32mm
PTI- 47mm

And also check out how much lower the battery and motor are in the pic.

I can't seem to locate it in the 2005 edition of the Tower Hobbies catalog. If I missed it, will you please direct me to the page number? I did find a PTI listing under "Car & Truck Bodies & Decals" on page 284 with a body listing on page 160. Tell Rudy hello.

Its nice, cool looking and prob better than the TLT but just not practical and think good luck trying to get replacment parts for that thing.

I've thought the same thing about replacement and option parts, especially since it was one year ago when I first saw the truck at the "2003" Hobby Visions show.
