I was bored and i had one of those crappy canned heats. And i thought it would be cool if it was proportional so i got 2 busted servos and a reciever. I converted the electronics in the servos to esc's (forward and reverse). One is used on the motor that drives the wheels. The other is for steering. But why am i using a esc on the steering you ask? Well it is because the steering mechanism in canned heats is an electromagnet! I tested it to see if it would work and suprisingly it did! Now i installed the reciever, installed the esc's added 2 more batteries (or else the reciever did not work correctly, plus it adds more speed!). I turned it on set the trim on the controller and woohoo! Awesome! It was like a whole new car! It turned good and i had proportional forward/reverse! Even the wheels turn proportionally with the electromagnet. It does about 16 mph on full speed. Currently i am looking for better battery's to put on cause for now they are super glued to the sides(hehe :p) and 2 are in the "regular" battery compartment. If anyone has suggestionsfor better batteries that would be cool. I am really proud of my "creation" it sure is a lot of fun and interesting seeing what you can do with a few parts and a soldering iron :)
