My micro now goes about 70 mph (68mph-71mph). I'm playing with my esc to try to get it above 80 mph. I've tried setting the esc to 110a, but I didn't get any traction, couldn't even go it a straight line, but it leave huge, dark skids. I next tried setting the Torque control at 0, since I can't get any traction starting off (the higher the number the more wheel spin), and I set the Turbo mode at 1.1 seconds (the amount of time it takes before 110a kicks in, and it very fast). I had to start of slow so I don't spin out, then flore it, but with the tires spinning at twice the speed the car was going it just spun out.

I'm going to try 30a to start out and have the Turbo mode kick in after 2.2 seconds. It should be very fast. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

You can see the skids at 110a here: http://www.one18th.com/showtoy.php?id=2695

If you have any opinions or comments, just post em up.
Thanks, Andrew :)

try to add some more cells, i have 8 cells in my car and upgraded to a 7t i think d6 and it gets 80 easily, and the car that i am about to build should top 110 easily. go to my thread named rccaraction top speed challenge.

I've ran out of money for my car. I have money, but I'm not going to spend it on my car. And I just got a brand new battery pack. So I'm trying to use the awsome technology from my GM V12 esc to get my car to 80 mph. I could add 4 more cells and easily top 100 mph, but that's pretty fast. My motor's running 48,003 rpms. What your brushless motor that your going to get running?

the company that is going to supply me with the brushless motor is aveox.com. Their motor are great and really topnotch but great comes with a hefty price tag, 350 for esc and motor. I am still in the process of desiding what motor to get though, would you happen to have a 540 motor laying around so that you can give me some measurements of the motor with and withouth the shaft in inches. Thanks. To make it go faster you could try adding a receiver pack so tht you can get more volts to you motor directly, the receivr pack comes with the remote when you buy one, and you can make one for less than 7 bucks.

It's a failer. The car accelerates too fast when the Turbo mode kicks in. I have it set to kick in when It reaches top speed. So it was going 70 mph, then the Turbo mode kicked in And gives the car so much extra power that it spins out (since one wheel gets more power) and slams into the wall going 70 mph. I need to go to a big parking lot so when it kicks in I don't wreck. I also need a better front diff to handle the extra power of the Turbo mode. How many rpms does the Aveox motor that your using have?

:)

Motor w/out shaft: 54mm

max rpm is about 50 k. how long is the can of a regular 540 motor in inches withouth the shaft.

that's less than 2,000 rpms than mine. Maybe you could save yourself alot of money and get a 7turn Epic binary 2, which is probably over 50k rpms.

The motor in inches is: about 2.25 w/out shaft, w/shaft: 2.75.

Man, this hobby is adicting, Just spent more money on my car. Bought a new ball diff for the front. Now I can try Turbo mode without finding a big parking lot. :D :D :D :D :D :D

i m trying to enter a top speed challenge and as far as i know rgular esc can't handle the volts like a good ole brushless sensor can. The average bl esc can handle 16 cells and the averae brushed esc can handle 7 cells. thanks for the help ajg and hoe that ball diff works.

My GM V12 handles 10 cells (12 volts max) which can get the micro over 100 easily. About 120 mph. And the GM V12 has Turbo mode, which gives it alot more top end speed, ALOT.

I was goig to go ushed but brushless proves to be better. I know brushless can get over 120 bu i have never seen a brushed that got over 100. i am considering brushed now but does anybody know a esc that can handle more then 10 cells?? Can u use an airplane esc for rccar application??

Probably, since you don't need to brake. Or you could use a parachute. :)

This one might be good: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXTF92&P=7

can u use a 540 motor or is that a bl esc?? Thanks alot ajg your a real help. Great price too. Damn 36 cells. anymore. hehe. i am also going to use a parachute thanks to ajg idea.

You can use up to an "astro 90", which is 3.7" long and 2.1" in diameter. Which is bigger than a 540. So, I think so.

Good luck ajg

You talk about RPM's my Mamba 8000 brushless motor tops out at 76800 RPM's with 8 GOOD cells.
