I am very curios to hear how this setup works. It ships now since mid May. Any input appreciated, gearing, cell count, ........ Did anybody buy it yet?

I have bought one, the 5600kv motor
As I am in the UK, I am still awaiting its arrival from United RC in the U.S.
It should be here in a week or so. My M18 isn't built yet as I am sourcing some aftermarket parts to compliment the brushless setup, like front & rear ball-diffs, carbon chassis and upper deck.

Once this beast is running, I'll keep you updated here (http://www.yourmicro.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13561)

My Mamba 5600KVA motor arrived from United RC this morning.
Taking into consideration I live in the UK, the shipping was ultra quick via USPS.
I cant' wait to slap it in my M18 :D

Someone was mentioning some cogging under hard acceleration problems with the stock setup, you might want to play with the ESC settings a bit.

Can't wait to see the finished product.

Lucky Dawg!:D

I think the cogging had something to do with the gearing?

As long as the car is rolling, shouldn't have cogging probs. I have run 6 cells and 21t, a little cogging goes on sometimes when you start(also, I have the beta version) but once it starts going you forget about the fact it cogged at all:D .

Now for most circumstances, the 5400kv and 6 cells, you should be looking at around 17t, and that may be geared too high for most micro tracks.

The reason I mention I run the Beta version is that they did some fine tuning to the controllers so I don't know how much cogging you'll get from the controller now, all in all though, this thing is super smooth:D.

And fast!!!

Does someone know what size the motor shaft is on the Mamba?
I am still looking for metal pinion gears for a 2mm shaft (300 motor).

2mm shaft

Orion, and I think HPI both make metal 2mm pinions.

I am going to be running a 5400kv system on 6 cells, what would be the appropriate gearing for speed, runtime, etc? I see someone said 17t earlier...

I run the 5400 with 19/36 gearing. Very fast on a my local track. It can easily keep up with 10th scale stock cars, but it can't handle as well at the same speeds. I catch them in the straights but lose them in the turns. It sometimes cogs too, which is a real bummer when racing. Run time is at least 10 minutes but I wasn't really counting.

I ran the 23/36 combination in the street and clocked it at 30+ mph. 2sec/100ft give or take a couple of tenths. Very fast but not practicle on a track.

Awesome, sounds pretty quick. What batt setup are u using?

I am using 6 Kan cells in a stick configuration. I had to remove the stock mounting posts and glue down the pack.

I'm using a stick CBP 6 cell, and ended taking off the posts and then glueing the batt as well. Do you have a pic of your whole setup? It took alot of tinkering with mine to make everything fit right.
