what would be the best pinion for my elite mod? i am going to use the capacitor schematic, so will i still get good acceleration with a 14T compared to using a 12 or 13? this is for racing and bashing. TIA
also, will the TO 14T pinion fit well on the elite?

There is no "best pinion" it all depends on your track and heow long the straight sections are. look at this thread (http://yourmicro.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=820) for more info.

my main question is how will my acceleration be with an elite mod+7.2 volts+capacitor method+14T pinion? how there much noticable difference from the same setup and a 13T pinion? a 12T pinion?

My advice from my experience would be stay away from the Team Orion 14t pinion, it really is not long enuff so it can wobble and or fall off the motor shaft.

it's quite simple. the 14 pinion will have 1/6 more top end, but will take 1/6 more time to get to your old top speed and even longer to get to your new top speed.

I have heard that but thats not what I had problems with as much as the pinion not being long enuff to sit straight. I just like the hpi ones better by design.

I have the orion mod and a 14t pinion and a 6v pack (5cell) and
I had little drag race with my friend that has the same setup (i built both cars). Except he had a 7.2 (6cell) and a 13t pinion. Results.....

textured concrete
---I was the winner.
slick floor
---winner again (able to keep control of the car throught the hole accel. range.

never ran on the track (road course) to see what the diffrence was so this isnt the best gauge.

than he got a a 14t pinion now I need a 7.2v battery.
