Sweet! We can get 12 on the track at So Cal now!!!

Blind, sounds like these are more half steps than a continuation beyond 6. Is this kinda like what you were talking about with what you can do with the MiniZ's?

Good find!

the 6 extra channels that are now appearing more often here in the US are not a continuation of channel 6. They are half steps as stated above. So, under the new system this is the channel layout:

old ch ------ new ch ------- color ------- freq
---------------1------------gr/br------26.975
--1------------2------------brown----26.995
---------------3-------------rd/br-----27.025
--2------------4-------------red-------27.045
----------------5-------------rd/or----27.065
--3------------6------------orange---27.095
---------------7--------------or/ye----27.125
--4------------8------------yellow----27.145
----------------9------------ye/gr-----27.165
--5-----------10------------green----27.195
---------------11------------gr/bl-----27.225
--6------------12-----------blue------27.255

so if you use an older system with only 6 channels just double the number to get the new channel number. this has been causing some confusion at tracks so if your getting interferance make sure you know what channel yer on (old and new)

Has anyone tried these though? From what I understand the range is deliberately crippled on them to allow multiple XMODs to run not to far away from each other on the same xtal?

Nice - esp. since RS sent us a set; I'd still like to hear from someone who's tested the range though, as it's allegedly far less than standard xtals. Maybe not such a big deal on 1/18th and smaller since they'd be too small to see at the outer range limits?!

The numbers are too close, it will jam...We would doing that when we're racing mini-z and it would jam...

THEY Work perfectly, for me that is... no interference . yes the range is a little less...but we race in a 50x30 foot area indoors so its not too big a deal for me.... but they do work and ive let otherpeople try the other 5 channels its comes with ( i use ch.10) and we have had zero probs. hope that helps.

not sure what you mean by them beiing too close. The 75Mhz band has always been closer than the 27Mhz band. Even with the half channels, 27Mhz has a larger gap between channels than 75Mhz. If people are getting interference between channels then at least one of the radios is bleeding over, which could happen with a cheap radio.

It looks to me that the RS crystals are like the Funny channels from KOPropo... they have 12 27mz channels instead of the regular 6 27mz channels...

The Funny channels dont interfere with other regular channels as long as they are not on the same channel... (refer back to post with freqs...) but this is just in my experience....

who knows what will happen... these are just basic rtr radios... not the high end radios that KO sells

there is an indoor track here that had the trucks running togather and they said there were range issues with the stock setup. Have any of you noticed this?

yup, range on my stock mini-t was around 100 feet, AKA from one end of the local dirt oval to the other, I would get a glitch at the opposite side.

Does anyone know if the 12 channels are just the same as doing the Tx/Rx xtal swap trick?
