i'm looking to purchase a micro, but i don't want to be the only one. i don't know of any tracks around here. if you're from toronto and have a micro, where do you race?

Went to RC Champs over the weekend. They will not allow 1/18th scale cars on their track. Maybe I wasn't convincing enough?

try making a little group there yourself. get some pvc piping and make a outdoor track; just have people bring there own tables and you can supply the power. Then get a picture of your track and a picture of a micro, put it on a poster with some info on where to race, and post them in all the hobby shops

Hi TFRMicro & Pragmg,

I have a Micro too and I'm also in Scarborough. I think there are only a few people have Micro in our area. I did check the race track (Hwy 7 & Kennedy ) for Mini-z and it didn't big enough even for a stock Micro. I'm a member of "MATCH", a club in Markham and had race and/or practice every Sunday at Brother André High School’s parking lot ( Hwy 48 & Markham Rd. ). We have classes for both Nitro & Electric Touring. I am thinking of if we can make up a new class for Micro. But there are a number of problems:

- The club might not welcome a new class for Micro.
- Are we having enough people to sign up for race on a weekly basis.
- Since the track is about the size of a basketball court, we definite can’t go for stock. But what kind of rules we can apply to a Mod. Class. I’m currently using a HPI Mod Motor along with HPI 6V 600mah packs. I usually run in my driveway. Both speed and handling are OK. But if you want to run in a 1/10 track you must have a 7.2V pack. How many people have Micro and are willing to buy at least three 7.2V packs. Also you must have to have a front One-way diff. Cause the stock plastic diff. can’t handle the 7.2V pack. I don’t want to run with the stock Micros in this track and I’m guarantee there are no funs at all.
- I only can race my Micro every other week. Cause I have to race my Nitro.

I suggest you guys can check out the forum @ www.rc-club.com and ask about if we can make a new class for Micro.

oh ya, we really don't need to have a race...because there isn't that much people that have micro...[don't know why, but Advance told me they sold alot of them]

but, we can just have a get together day on Saturday or Friday...doesn't matter...just have fun with micros that day...share tips and stuff....??

No, I don't know who have one. It seems like people in Toronto not interesting in Micro. I brought mine in A&J Hobbies. They sold about 7 to 8 of them in the past 5 months. Anyway, I hope more people can see your post.

I thought you would come over and check out the club gathering yesterday. They did set up a track for fun and I was the only one who showed up with a Micro. I talked to Henry, our club co-ordinator, and he is willing to add a class for Micro if we have enough people. I think we have to have at least six people.

I tried two packs of batteries and played a little bit on the set-ups. The original HPI 6V 600mah was fast enough to have fun on that track. The 7V 600mah, which I put together myself, ran a bit faster. I used 4 narrow front tires all around. Standard is on the front and Soft is on the rear. HPI medium hard front springs, front one-way, rear ball diff. HPI mod. motor and rear damping without spring. I did try the soft compound, for the wide rear rim, in the rear and the car was oversteeling. I thought maybe the foam inserts which caused the rear tires to loss grip. I knew your rear soft tires don’t have foam inserts. Maybe you can try them yourself.

BTW, they will come to the track again this Sunday at 11:00am to re-paint the fire-hose and corner discs. Come stop by if you have time.

They will come this Sunday Mar 24, 2002 at about 11:00am to " RE-PAINT THE FIRE-HOSE AND CORNER DISCS." I don't know if they will set up a track again or not. If they do and the track is NOT ONLY for Micro. Last week, I ran with 1/10 and 1/8 Nitro touring cars. You suppose to take care of you own little Micro. Also, if you want to run your car on the track, YOU MUST BE A MEMBER.
YOU CANNOT RUN YOUR CAR ON THE TRACK IF YOU ARE NOT A MEMBER. Watching and checking out info. are for free.
There are no electrical outlet, washroom and public transportation.

Henry, who replied your post in the club forum, can make the decision. I'm just one of their regular members. If you would like a more clear answer, you can ask him. Of course, you have to post your question on the "MATCH" club forum.

Maybe I said "you have to be a member" will give you feel like a little bit uncomfortable. But to become a member is very easy. You just pay one time fee of $25 and you can come race and pratice for the whole season. I mean no more extra charge on your ever single race.

Finally picked up a micro! Geez about time. I've been working on my 1/10 for the past while, so I was a little distracted. But now it's micro time. Just picked up the kit yesterday. Unfortunately I won't have time to complete it by Sunday. It's gonna be stock till next paycheck though :(

Hopefully in a couple weeks, I should have it hopped up so I can race you guys :D

MATCH stands for Markham Area Touring Car Hobbyists... we meet every sunday and have classs for electric touring car, nitro touring car, 2wd formula 1, truck and a spec racing class

I got it at Advance...I dont know why, all of the other stuff they sell for alot of $$...

but for some reason, HPI Micro parts are pretty cheap...the body is one $20 bucks.

i suggest you get an elite mod.... the team orion elite stock is a pretty sticker wrapped around an hpi stock motor.

don't get me wrong, i'm using an hpi stock and it flies with 6 cells!
i no longer use my speed 300 because the runtimes are awful!

Dont worry about not being able to keep up, most of the guys stripped their servo gears or esc problem...:D :D So they are not coming..
