does anyone know if the acro 280BB can handle regular brushes and springs?

No it can't. I was disapointed with the speed too.

I'm not sure what kind of brushes it takes, but Race B sent me a picture of one disassembled and it looks like somebody could make some brushes that would fit out of standard sized brushes. A lot of filing and some small fingers or a homemade jig and I think it could be done. I am actually going to buy one just to see if they are as bad as everybody thinks.

I looked at the stats (http://hobby-lobby.com/speed280.htm) . They really do suck.

its not that bad, are you looking at the regular 280?
