Which one should I buy? Currently, I got HPI micro and Kyosho Mini-z. I would like to know more on Kawada M-24 and Epoch Indoor racer in terms of hop-ups availability and performance. Thanks in advance.

there's a fairly large size difference, dude!

The epoch is 1/43rd if i'm not mistaken, and the Kadawa is 1/24.

I've got a kadawa, and it shares the same electronics as my Micro. I'm waiting for the rest of the parts for my Mid-24, before I open the box to build it though, or it'll never get done!

It shares a fair number of parts with the Mini-Z. Of course, you can also get ball diffs for a few bucks more that are meant for the Mid-24, and fit the axle and wheels without any hassle.

The Mid-24 is nice as well because you can use MOD motors, because the ESC can be anything that you can use on a Micro RS4 (such as a small GM V3R...)

Much more modular, so if something breaks you won't have to get a new one.

Personally, i'd get the mid-24 (which I already have), but it's like a Mini-Z for professionals.

I agree. While I don't have a Mid-24, I do have a couple of Mini-z's. I had three, but because they're not "modular" as Scott put it, the third one is kaput.

From what I know of the Epochs, they're not modular either. I also think that most of the fun is finding the electronics that suit you and putting the car together to make it run the way you want.

This is NOT a knock on the Z or the Epoch... he asked for opinions and now he has mine! ;)

Thanks guys. In fact, I agree totally. I like Epoch in scale but not performance. The worst of all, not many hop-ups support. On the other hand, I believe I will get Kawada instead since it sounds very good on hop-ups and performance. Here is my mini-z interior.
I got every available options in US. :D

Thanks guys. I finally placed an order for Kawada M-24 MID kit from Hong Kong, which is the cheapest and currently available. Besides, I also got hop-ups from tinyrc.com and microracing.com including full bearing set, foam tires, front bumper set, H-bar as well as body mount set. Best of all, I got Fujimi BMW M1 Procar 1/24 model kit for its body. Sweet Hope MID kit won't let me down. Once again, thanks for all inputs.:D

Let us know when you finish and post pics of the finished product here or there (tinyrc.com). I'm sure that all of us would like to see your new toy!

If you're anything like me, you're antsy about it coming in -- I hope it comes in soon.

Yeah. It is hard to find M1 Procar kit these days. It has been out of production for a long time. I love to have it in mini-z or micro scale as well. :) I got this 1/24 kit through ebay. :D I definitely post it on either or both website as soon as I got it done. Thanks for reviewing my posts. :D Stay tuned.

Is there a reason that you overlooked the DTM X4?
I'm curious because I'm very tempted right now to get a 1/24 scale car but keep going back and forth between Kawada and DTM X4.
I realize that there are significant differences, 2WD v. 4WD, as well as other minor differences. Is there a specific reason you overlooked the DTM X4?

I had been thinking both Kawada M-24 MID and ABC DTM X4. Finally, I got both instead. Kawada MID is the most flexible chassis layout in the current market. It will fit almost any 1/24 scale model and most of mini-z bodies without mounting holes whatsoever. :) With a minor modification, it will be a good competitor of mini-z. You can upgrade to 180 stock motor but still being powered by 4-AAA cell. On the other hand, DTM X4 is great in performance aspect. Not only coupled with AWD system, but it also allows you to install modified 180 motor as well. The down side is that it only let you choose either 110mm or 115mm wheelbase body with width of 78mm.
In short, if you want flexibility on body choice, go for Kawada mid; if you want performance, go for DTM X4. :)

Check out my M1 Procar project of Kawada MID on "General RC" forum section. :D
