Well almost. I finally got around to upgrading my Ikarus Piccolo micro helicopter to use the Orion Elite Mod and installed my collective pitch kit (stuff that make the rotor blades angle to lift the helicopter off the ground). Anyway I was flying around my computer room chasing my cat when I got too close to my couch in there and WHAM! broken rotor blades:eek:. So now I have to wait about a week so I can get new blades and get flying so I can buzz the driver's stand at our micro track. :p Oh well, guess now is a good time to start tinkering on my TC3 some more.:D

Here's a pic of the Heli. You really can't tell in the picture, but the end of one of the blades is smashed pretty bad. :D

I've always been interested in those tiny helicopters. Any pics of the innards?

Nice little eggbeater there man :)
I've always yearned for an indoor swingwing. The Ikarus stuff is so cool, basic and easy to maintain.

Well here's a picture of the elctronics on the heli. Something in there should look familiar to you all.

The Orange Ball things are part of the training gear which attach to the skids on the heli, and ensure that the rotors are the only thing in danger of damage from rookie crashes. :D

The basic setup for the Heli, Radio, Battery, and Charger cost me about $350 from Hobby-Lobby.

Ha ha ha, He's got "training wheels" on it. Just kidding Crooked H. I want one, but for the price, I could buy more micro stuff. :D See you at the track..........

"Training Wheels". When I learned to ride a bike, I didn't need training wheels, but now I need them to fly. LOL! :p Are you still going to the track Friday Night as well?

As far as specs go:
-its about 20 inches long
-the rotor diameter is about the same
-it weighs maybe a pound, pound and a half
-Has 2 motors, one for main rotor, one for the tail
-comes in 3 different versions
*Fun- 280 sized motor, fixed pitch, bushings (I have this one)
*Eco-310 sized motor(detuned Speed 300) ,fixed pitch, carbon parts galore, ball bearings
*Pro-410 sized motor, collective pitch, ball bearings, more carbon stuff than you can shake a stick at, and almost every basic upgrade part made by Ikarus already installed
-comes with (if you order a package deal) a "piccoboard" which is a gyro, and 2 ESCs as one unit. One esc controls the tail motor while the other controls the main one. European versions also have a built-in receiver.
-The most common upgrade is the elite mod motor or a brushless as they have a similar performance in the helis but the elite mod is cheaper and simple as it doesn't require a special controller to hook up.

I'll try to remember to take pics of it next to my micro and TC3 for size comparison. Got to go get some more batteries for the camera. I hate when that happens.

well im surprised how many people made fun of the training landing gear. if you tried to fly an rc heli youd want the fugly balls too. unless you were good at it becuse you practiced. if you people want one www.hobby-lobby.com has them and the hornet.

you do know that helicoptors dont fly, they only beat the air into submission
