hpi mod motor problem

Has anyone else ever blown a capacitor in half on this motor?? I think that my motor got so hot that it busted the cap clean in half.

Also, does anyone know what company makes a heatsink for the HPI mod motor (if there is one)??

GPM makes one...

but HPI came out a new heatsink....looks pretty good....

i've been looking at picking up the hpi mod motor,this is the first time i've read about this happening.other than that how do you like the motor ?

I think that the motor is great. I think my problem was running too many packs consecutively without letting the motor cool down. I really like the fact that you can change the brushes on this motor. And priced at $25.00, it's a good deal. I just bought another one and it's just fine. As long as you give it some cool down time between packs, it's a great motor.
