Sounds like a plan to me.

I can see how folks that do not have an airbrush could feel like they are at a disadvantage.

I would only compete in one category, but I still think it is a good idea. It would give the younger folks a better chance at winning some of the goodies.

Even if I were to win, I would want the stuff to go to someone below the age of 18 who actively participates in the forums and the competition.

I am not bragging, that is just the way I am.

I personally think it should be divided by the style of the body AND rattlecan/airbrush. For example, modern and classic cars...

'65 mustang, '68 camaro, Chevy SSR...

All other bodies modern... lol

oh well just a thought :o i doubt i'll enter anyways... i need to take care of a little business before i spend any more money on the micro, with the excpetion of a TO Elite Mod

I have a nice Subaru in the works, it will be well detailed but not necessarily an amazing paintjob. Any ideas on how this may be judged?

HO502cid, this is a good question, detailing is important; assuming you would be using a rattlecan, then extensive detail would probably help push you to the top of that category.

Well, I did not use a rattle can, although I could have. The paint itself is not complex but the detail work will be AMAZING.;)

The reason I did not use rattle cans when I could have was because of my custom mix orange... wait and see. I think it has a chance.

well.. if i had to vote of the ones included besides my own... i think it would go to integrationx's nsx.. because ive done some fades and shadows like he has on there.. and its a major pita/hard work... and looks very good.. and the splash up front... killer...

I can't judge the rattlecan album too well (I have the M3), but I really like TangPgt's 350Z. Great colors, and a nice use of chrome.

But for first, I'd say it is a tie between JSHobbies' NSX and IntegrationX's NSX!

Does the body need to be painted by the person that entered it? I am pretty sure atleast one person did not paint their own submission.

I think it should be painted by who ever entered it. Otherwise, its whoever spends the most money. I think originality should also be taken in to consideration, because I saw at least one that had some REALLY similar designs. Its alot easier to buy a body, or copy someone else's than come up with your own.

I also sent bette pictures and they were not put on, do I need to resend? The picture thats on is horrible and Im sure will affect how people judge the paint. I have much better, with much better lighting.

Yea, its been fun. I actually bought the body for this contest. The funny part is I didnt even own a micro at the time, now I have 2. I just wish the contest was more often.

btw again.. that camaro has chrome.. so... its airbrushed...

Not to pick a fight or anything, but the owner of the camero could have used a paint brush to do the chrome or (unlikely imo) could have used chrome wing covering for airplanes and shrunk it to the conforms of the grill and cut to fit.

Give the guy the benefit of doubt before you point fingers.

yourmicro told me that they are still waiting to hear back from the sponsors about some of the prizes, and the announcement has been delayed because of it. Just be understanding guys, I am sure yourmicro is trying as hard as possible to get this over with. I think we all know that yourmicro would have announced this if he was able to because he runs a tight ship here.

I airbrush most of my cars... but when i have a simple two-color scheme like my RX-7 it's not necessary :)
