brush change for hpi mod

Has anyone changed the brushes on the HPI mod motor yet?? If so, how difficult was it??

it was easy just be carfull with the cupasitors i broke one and that was that for a while

How would you know when you have to change the brushes??

well when you look at them are looking pretty worn out? if so its time for a change. Or if there kind of a green color that means it has been under heat so it could mean that your gearing is wrong or to many volts

Is there anyway to tell without desoldering the caps and actually looking at the brushes from the other side?

im not to familiar with the hpi mod, but you might be able to look from the little slots in the can or somewhere that you can see the brushes, if they look a different color you should take them out, or if it just doesnt look right you should at least inspect it
