I was looking at the speed 300 today at my LHS and the package said that it is supposed to only handle 6V. I know that some of you are running MUCH higher voltage with these motors and wanted to know if anyone has fried one yet because of the increased voltage. Also, how much faster is the speed 300 compared to the HPI mod motor??

Anyone out there with a speed 300 or a big block know the answer to this??

well I run 7.2 volts on my stock motor which should only handle 6V and I have a speed 380(pretty much same as speed 300) and its suppose to only handle 6V also but there fine.

The speed 300's will last quite some time at 7.2 volts or less. Some airplane guys have told me they don't handle more than that for very long. The difference in speed between a 300 and the HPI mod is night and day. I have both. On the particular track I race at, you can hang okay with an Orion Mod. You will get smoked with the HPI mod. The hot ticket there is a speed 300.
