hi all,
This is my first message here and i'm a little buzzed so pardon the spelling.
I just got one of my old parma slot cars in the mail from my mom back home and i emedialtly put it in my micro and the motor is a little larger than a stock motor so i put a 11/t pinion on it and evrything seemed good until a tried ot on the gound and the best it could do was a creep until it found a bump in my hardwood floor (joke). well it sucked, can anyone think of why?

I tried an old Trinity Slotworks motor in mine, and it was about the same speed as stock. Two reasons, first the slot cars like 12volts, we have far from that, and two they turn reverse rotation from what is needed. That means the timing is retarded.

try it with 10 cells and see what happens

Slot car motors are no good unless you going to have high votages going though it.
they are made for 12v or more and you will not get anything out of them unless you use more than 12v.
I had one in my micro, and with 14.8v it was ok but not worth the extra weight of the batteries.

I would be awsome with four or five lithiums and a aviation speed control. what is the max voltage a slot car motor can take?

not sure how much the motor can take for votage, but i had 4 li ions on it.
It was not that great.
the motors arn't designed for a micro, which means it shouldn't work. Hpi did a great job with the stock motor while not exceeding a budget. And the stock motor was designed for the car. It works

yes but for just 5 dollars more than a stock you can get a 300 motor which goes crazy. a lot of us are always looking for anew tweak.
ok, I understand, I was arguing that the stock motor was very good.
Actually I saw a speed 300 at my hobby shop and the guy said it was crazy. How much faster are they with stock battery pack? Sounds cool but I don't have the money, also I don't think it will fit 140mm with porche body.
