hows the micro racing overseas ?
Really don't think there are any standard rules out there yet but could be wrong. It seems like everytrack has different rules. Around here stock is stock out of the box 4cells standard battery box.
Mod is Mod If all you do is cut the chassis you will run with the guys who have a pan chassis,low CGs 6 cells with a speed 300.
Hey "tc rcr" didn't you and "other cents" have like 800 posts? Taking bets now who is the first to get back to that many. :D

I'd also be very interested in establishing common rules - please, anyone with ideas post here.

here's a couple for stock classes:
batteries;
for stock class racing you must run four (4) AA or AAA batteries mounted in the factory supplied battery holder.
motor;
you must use either the stock hpi motor or the team orion stock motor.

actually heres my rule of thumb for rule making decisions: if its free and available to everyone, and will improve the performance of the car (ie; cutting the chassis etc...) its ok for stock class. if it serves no real performance purpose but is used as a more durable replacement part (ie; steel or aluminum dog bones, aluminum wheels etc...) its ok for stock class. if it costs money for everyone to have one and adds performance, its not ok for stock class.
just my 2 cents

i calss just longer races so if the mod guys wanna be able to finnish they will have to use there power wisly while the stock peeps can run full out for the whole race

I think classes should be geared towards 4, 5, and maybe even 6 cell classes and motors accordingly. I like being able to win a race by driving, rather than throwing more money at it to make it faster and then trying to win. Also, I think when people think of rules, they tend to forget the "turn marshall"rule. I'd like to see a lap docked off of your fastest time for not turn marshalling without asking everybody first if it's ok.

At my LSH the rule will be the following :
Stock : 5 cells and all (only HPI) parts (stock and option)
Open : 5 cell and all HopHup from any type and brand
This is for now, with and for new track never raced.
Maybe, after some race, the rule will be modified.
My LSH was building a track for micro and there are many doubs on race rules.....
....also the business for the LSH must be preserved !!! :rolleyes:
