I just got finished re-soldering and trouble shooting my powersource and when i got the car up and running i had about 2 min. of run time and then suddenly the motor siezed up. I brought it inside and the motor is gettinng power, and it is trying to trun but something (I belive) inside the can is stopping the motor from turning. In this motor the mount screw holes are in a plate and it is not supposed to come out so I donot know how to get to the wires and find what is the matter( unless I can turn the plate to the rivots but i dont know what else i would be turning)
Help Please... otherwise i will have to try and up grade to brushless and thus put out money for ESC, Battery and Motor.:o :(

What would be the best, and least radio intesnive or reciever intensive motor and esc for brushless

And is that motor shot? what do you think

Yes that motor is shot, especially if you have been running it a lot, how long have you had the motor and how many times has the motor been ran....just give me an estimate please.

I've had the motor for about 3 months of it being in the car and i have been running it about 8 charges a week at the least to about 16 charges per week. I am going to go to my LHS and find out about brushless and their ESC's but I want to know what other people's set ups were so i could get an idea before just buying blindly.
Thanks so far.

Do a search on the forum for Bl systems, you should get lots of info on it.:D

Thanks Alfred I got the Mamba Competition Package and it FLIES!!! I am amazed because my older motor was significantly larger and louder and more power consuming and now I can drift with rubber tires... This is great thatnks for all the help.

Oh BTW I modified a battery pack to be an off set 2*3 and it fits under the raised upper deack along with the stock servo. I was worried about the batteries exploding as i soldered them but they didn't and now I am keeping watch as I charge them. Thanks again and I will get some pictures or mabey even a video of drifting up soon( nothing too fancy b/c it will be my first ones)

thanks again you really helped

yeh umm when i hit the throttle the steering glitches and when I try to control it or getting going faster than walking speed it tries to hit full speed without my input and then it doesn't brake when i tell it to. the initial programing was fine i did it over and over correctly and the secondary programming i havn't tampered with yet (i think) any way i have the ESC foam taped to the top of the reciever is this a bad i dea, could it be my problem and if so should i spce them out like putting the reciever on the top rear deck and also what settings should i use for timing ect.
Thanks and I hope i didn't waste my Birthday:(

Yes that is bad, you should never put your esc right on top of the rx......that is where the glitching is......if you take a look at peoples galleries you see that the elec's are always spaced out.

Is it fixable by spacing them apart or have i just fried my esc or reciever?

and do you recomend lock tight on the motor mounting screws?

also does the servo interfere with my reciever and or controler.

You should space out the esc and the rx, and make sure that the battery leads are no where near the antenna straw. And yes you should use loctite on the mounting plate for the motor....vibration can cause the screws to work themselves loose.
