Hi, I'm an old fart RC guy from way back that now has 2 boys running RC cars. They're young still and learning. I have a question & probably many more in the future. Todays question is about charging the battery packs I made for their Losi Mini-t's. I put together a couple of 8.4V Ni-Cd packs(I know they're a thing of the past but I had them laying around) & I have an old Tekin BC100S peak charger from when I used to race. I used it to charge 6 cell SCR packs. Can this be used to charge the 7 cell AA packs safely & if so what amperage would you suggest. The charger has a soft pulse that was used for SCE packs & hard pulse that was used the SCR packs. The soft can do 1-4.5 Amps & hard can do 4-9 Amps. I don't even have a clue any info on these AA cells I have. I think they may have been from an old tyco pack. I'm not looking for max performance just getting them charged & back out bashing ASAP. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Steve.

Well i charge my radio batteries at 3amps at 40mv.....so i would charge a pack like yours at 3amps at 35mv.

Hi, me again. I'm a little confused. when you're talking about charging in mV are you meaning that I should be using a different charger ? I'm not aware that I can regulate that with my Tekin peak charger. When I charge with this peak charger the voltage is climbing the entire time until it peaks & then it stops charging. Thanks again, Steve.

Well since you dont have that feature then you can charge the packs at either 2.5 or 3amps.:D Just touch the pack once in awhile to make sure that the pack doesnt get too hot.
