Its been a long wait for me but I finally received all the bits to get my Xray M18t going!

spec as follows:

Xray M18t kit
Quark 33a pro car ESC
Wraith 7k
URC Race23 IB1400 6 cell pack
Old Futaba AM receiver

Well, it started off a little rocky, took ages to get it all then when I received the Quark, one of the wires was not soldered to the board. I was so disapointed! I decided that rather than sending it back and waiting for another month or so, I'll cut the casing and resolder myself, so I did.

The programming is a little complicated and the esc programming button is difficult to get to but managed to surmount these problems too. I configured the throttle throw then left all settings at default except that I turned reverse on.

Since the car is new, the ball diffs needed to be worn in but once complete, it was a lot of fun! It was raining outside so we had to drive in the house. My 1 and 2 year old boys loved running after it.

The throttle curve was linear and I detected no hesitation or cogging. I've not pushed it yet, I was quite gentle. Nothing to worry about from a heat perspective yet either.

All in all, I'm happy with this ESC / motor / pack combo.

So the esc does run well with the use of 2/3a batts, well im happy to hear that you finally got it man-you were waiting for a long time to get it. What do you mean the programming button is hard to get too, would you be able to post up a pic of the esc in the M18t.;)

Of course I'll put some pics up :)

The button is recessed in the casing and when you tape the ESC down, with the heat sink up, it makes the thing difficult to get to, I'll take a pic of that too.

Had I thought about it properly, I'd have programmed the ESC before taping it to the chassis.

This thing is so much fun!

Well would it be easier just to cut a small section of the heatsink so that you can get to the button more easily.:D

The way I try to squeeze everything on my MRS4's stock bottom chassis, I usually have to place everything in awkward positions, making it hard to get to stuff like buttons. Toothpicks really come in handy. They're light and small enough to leave wedged in the chassis incase you need it later.
