well not really a problem, but more a dilemma of what motor and esc to use for my new project. i bought a kyosho "hang on racer" 1/8 scale motorcycle (http://www.kyosho.com/eng/products/rc/detail.html?product_id=100393) (it should arrive on saturday) and i have yet to decide what electronics to put on it. ive considered a mamba brushless system w/ lipos:D (but its a bit pricy) the other option would be to use a novak micro spy, brushed motor, and battery pack (but which motor & batt???) any help will be welcomed, i think im leaning toward the brushed system, although the brushless system looks mighty tempting. any help on this subject would be really appreaciated, and dont worry alfred ill post pics of the bike as soon as i get it on sat:cool: . ohh and one more thing i want it to be fast, (but price is a big concern) so bang for the buck is a big deal here. thanks :D

Instead of getting the Spy why dont you just get the GT model......so this way you wont have to worry about disabling reverse. What size motor will the bike accept.......Am i reading the header right......is this 18th or 8th scale.

its 8th scale but to a motor bike in real life. so if a car is 18 feet a 1/18 is going to be a foot. if a motor bike is 8 feet in real life than 1/8 is going to be a foot. not exact numbers just trying to say that a 1/18 motor bike would be like the micro-t of bikes :)

yeah i guess i know what you mean......but checking the link it really doesnt give enough info on the motor size and what kind of electronics it uses.

the bike uses the electronics of a 1/18 scale car. on xtreme r/c they tested it with a team associated mini mod motor. thats why i liked it soo much

Then a good combo would be the Novak Micro GT with a 280 mod motor.....since it did well with the Reedy Mini Max then i would go that route, but if you want to go faster then you can always pop in 17t Reedy motor up in there.:D

sorry m18_racer, but the more i think about it id rather get the brushed motor in which i could put a smaller nimh batt pack, than get a lipo (i mean i have a bada ss charger that dosent charge lipos) and if my calculations are correct i can get all the brushed motor electronics for 100 bux or less (including battery packs)

i could also throw in some 2/3a... i have 2 packs of 8 that you can disassemble. ill throw some in for free if you want. i just really dont need something im not going to use anymore..

Before you buy anything and since we obviously dont know what will and will not fit you might as well wait for it too come in.......not a good thing for you to buy stuff now that might just be useless to the model.;)

since you can run as low as 4 cells underneath the hood and at most 12 i dont see a problem. but if you decide you dont want it i will refund you for everything minus shipping. i GUARANTEE (dont know how to spell it) that you will like it. gtg to macdonalds. brb
