well went to my local indoor offroad 10th scale track,,,, the micro-t was very tiny on the track,, and I couldnt really do much because I didn't have the traction needed,,,,, tires were covered in mud,,, had to clean them using a toothbrush,,lol........ im sure that if a track (dirt or carpet) was made for the micro then that would be very exciting

So how well do you think it handled, that was kind of a big track dont you think. Did you break anything.

it handled as well as I thought it would,,,, crappy,, but given that the track was the same layout as the supercross,, every lil footprint was an obstacle,,........ I tried to jump it but it seems to be a bit nose heavy,,,, but I was trying to jump the double on the straightaway,,,, the thing looked funny out there,,,
other than that it handled nicely on the smoother surface,, it does need its own track though,,,,,, cant wait to see what someone might come up with
I will have to spray the tires with wd40 next time

We were talking about that thing where I race 1/18 scale on-road. We were thinking maybe we could setup some jumps around the track and use the micro-t because the 1/18 scale trucks are way to big for our tight track.
I was just wondering how the electronics in that thing are? Did it seem glitchy or was the speed control sloppy and I especially want to know how accurate the steering servo is.
I have a XXX-NT and a XXX BK2 (both rear wheel drive) for the local nitro track and you deffinatly need overall the right tires and you need a ton of throttle control and as they get smaller the harder they are to control on dirt. I couldn't imagine that thing on a 1/10 track... the RC18T looked like a bug going around our 1/8 buggy track.

Hey jae you need to post a vid of the T going around the track one time man.....:D

How well did your AM system hold up on the track Jae? Thru running a pair of charge's in my house, I got a few small glitches. I think the culprit could easily be connected to house hold electronics like my TV though:p . I ran a charge out doors and might have had it "twich" maybe once or twice.
FM gear would have likely helped out or elimanted these "twiches". But considering, this stock Tx is much, much nicer than the stock 18T's !. Features wise they are similar, but the Micro T radio wins hands down in appearence. It's a carbon copy of the MLST stocker, but without the fancy synthesized FM:eek:
So I guess if your tires got caked with mud, they didn't wear down to much then:rolleyes: ?
Even the RC18's and MLST's are big compared to this little guy. I can't imagine running it with other trucks and buggies.

no problems with glithing,,, but i was standing on the track while driving it,,, i never once had it do a complete lap,, just sections of the track i thought it would do..

Now all you need to do is to take your son or dad with ya so they can take a small vid of this little sucker. Have you done anything to it yet, like little mods and stuff like that.

Geez I think I might have to get one of these things. Hopefully a few more people will get them at Adam's track so we can race around with them.
How long does it last on a charge anyway?

15 minutes into checking out the little guy.......and I loose a C-Clip !
Soooooo.......that means no more running untill the LHS's get some parts in !:( Last time I checked , none of them had any spares. Bummed for sure......I guess i'll just have to make do and flu my little Picoo heli for a while;)
I've gotten a little under 10 minutes on the 3 chargers I was able to run before I lost the c-clip:cool:
alfred

Where did the C-clip go.........hey a least you got some runtime in buddy.
jaejw1
12-09-2006, 02:52 PM
well I lost one also,,, but I shook the rug and found it,,,, note to self -work over a large white towel next time..... since using the larger pinion runtime has gone down a lot...
sorry to say,, I have not done any mods to it,,,, just only sprayed the tires with wd40

The c-clip where did it go on the sucker..........
microRS4guy
12-09-2006, 06:21 PM
the micro-t c-clips are the same size as the c-clips that are used on the mini-t hinge pins and what not.
alfred
12-09-2006, 07:05 PM
Arent they called E clips.
microRS4guy
12-09-2006, 07:29 PM
e-clips, c-clips are basicley the same thing, just one has a lil extra hump in the middle of it.
jaejw1
12-09-2006, 07:33 PM
yes they are e-clips,,,,, very tiny e-clips
alfred
12-09-2006, 08:03 PM
Cool thanks.......they must be that small.......Hey jae do you plan on putting in a hotter motor up in there.
jaejw1
12-09-2006, 10:01 PM
no but i do have that kans battery pack and i fitted everything with micro deans..

Good to see both options are going to be seen soon:D . Can't wait for your reveiws guys.
I've been thinking about switching over to Micro Deans as well. Are they quite a bit larger than the stock connectors Jae?
MRS4Guy......do you have a Mini-T e-clip to compare against the Micro T's? Or is that coming from first hand knowledge? Man, if they are the same, this could mean my Micro T could be up and running by tomorrow if the LHS's have them. I may not find that Mini-T e-clip, but theres still a better chance considering none of them have any Micro T parts anyways:(
I wish I knew where that little "*/@!0#" e-clip went Al:eek:........I might have to magnatize my whole table, using a white towel is sadly not going to keep me from loosing every part that *ahem* "runs away from me"....lol !

12-10-2006, 09:02 AM
well im driving home from work now,, once I get gome I will post the pics,,, the micro deans are bigger and I had to cut away a small section of the routing hole to allow the plug to fit through,,,
also someone on another forum suggested putting a syrip of clear tape over the e-clip wjen extracting it. that way it wont fly away

Hey Dean dont you have an extra set of 18t shocks that you could take a apart.....I know the shock piston head uses two small e-clips, you might be able to use them, they seem small enough.

got dam-it someone is using their fuggin brain this morning,,,,,, you might be right alfred,,,,, dont know why noone else mentioned,,,, I might have to take a close look myself

I just put a dab of hot glue on the end of mine that works well.
Fajita Dave

Well I just got mine :D . I'm training to work at a local hobby town and when I walked in there they were! So I couldn't resist getting the little thing. I can't belive how tiny this thing is! If you have the right body on it someone could mistake it for a mouse.
I let a friend play with it at the shop and he broke the front tie rod for the steering. I just used lexan from an exacto razor package and copied the lenth of the one that wasn't broken so it was a 5min fix.
I found a way to smooth out the shocks a little bit as well so they aren't so springy. I just put some of Hob-E-Lube's Gear Lube in the shocks which is a very tacky oil. It doesn't bounce anywhere near as much as it did before but its still pretty springy.

with this you could build a chassis outta plexi...that would be "clearly" diferent:D

That was a terrible pun Mini-T Man :p
I was wondering how much friction your Micro-Ts have in the drive tran. Mine has quite a bit so I just want to know if its normal or not.
microRS4guy
12-11-2006, 07:53 PM
the micro t does have some drag in the drive train but most of the drag you are feeling comes from the motor.
alfred
12-11-2006, 08:55 PM
I guess the only way to tell would be to uninstall the motor......and see if the T can be pushed freely.:D
microRS4guy
12-11-2006, 09:05 PM
yah i did this. my drive train is free! lol

Yeah I did notice the motor has some strong magnets in there for its size. I guess it needs them to make this much power off of 4.8volts. I checked and my gear mesh was a little tight. I also put the small pinion on and now it will hold a wheel for about 10 feet on a fresh charge! This things hard to control at high speeds anyway.
I also broke one of my lexan turn buckles just like the stock plastic one broke after it came in contact with a chair at full speed (trying to make a high speed pass under it :p). Easy fix... I'll see if leaving more material around the screw will help. Its been breaking right before where the tie rod screws into the steering ackerman. Its not even tearing at the hole where the screw goes in so thats not the weak point.
