Just played with the new rc buggy that radio shack just came out with.I was impressed by its speed and control. That was after I was able to steer it.One of the steering links popped off before I got there so I fixed it before I played with it.For $150 it is not bad for the speed. The battery and charger is another $39.99  .I thought for the price that the battery and charger would be included. So $200 out the door worried me a little. No replacement parts seem to be out for it yet.Hope everyone gets to play with one at there local Radio Shack

We'll have a dedicated Forum for the Pro-Pulse soon.
They have their specific website up at: http://www.propulse.com
Notice the section for Catalog, lots of options "coming soon".
I imagine they'll play it the same way they've been playing the XMods line, which is to carry a lot of different upgrades at the stores.
I hope one of the local shacks around me gets these soon so I can get a gander at 'em!

Not bad I just checked out the stuff they will have out.A twin motor set up.And a brushless setup is what they will also have to offer.Sounds like they are really going to try and get at the hobby level.I know I will have to tinker some bit to get my micro to fly like the buggy did at radio shack. It moved quick and very fast in such a small store. It was very nimble and easy to control with the spiked tires hard to get it to stop doing wheelies

But some of that stuff you can only get on the web......just look at the tire options, some of them say Web Only.:o

While I for one, appricate The 'Shack jumping into the "hobby grade R/C" market with Megatech, I think their price point is a bit off:( . Just my 1/2 cent opinion, but their Pro-Pulse is right smack in the RC18 series price point??? Then add on their "optional" but "necassary" stick pack and wall charger, and you are now over the RC18 price:confused:
Granted I don't think everything needs to be cheaper than the previous model, but if you are not going to be BETTER you had better well be CHEAPER?!!? Can the radio shack "name brand" help it sell more than the RC18?
Now if The 'Shack had done their homework and teamed up with AE............I believe they would easily sell double the amount of RC18's in their stores than the Pro-Pulse:cool:

I also agree with you Big, why get a Propulse when you get an RC18t that already includes a wall charger and 6cell battery pack, I guess the only good thing about the Propulse is that it comes with an FM radio, and the dual motor setup isnt half bad as well.

Yea thats basically it.I mean $200 after the taxes would get you the buggy and the special battery back for it.I wouldnt take the chance because I have other issues going on with my cash flow.I had to buy the micro-t tho because it is the shiznit

sure =]
when i walked into my local radioshack looking for the br micro mosquito .the propulse display caught my eye,i said "wow, thats neat" and went on to puches the mosquito micro heli.well , i returned the heli the next day and bought the propulse b100, i had this thing open before i got home!!! the electronics are very profesional looking. i was even more impressed by the esc!very cool blue, the body is nice too, the green looks nice and is very flexible, but i usually run without it.when i got home and plugged the battery into the car it went forward and banged up my toenale, {ouch] the throttle trim had been straight up. so i took it outside to give it its maiden run and discharge the battery. WOW! this thing is a beast! couldnt resist going full speed off curbs and into the grass. just be sure to clean it after every run. i use a vacume to clean out all the dust, dirt, grass, leaves ..etc... the only thing i dislike of the propulse is the charge time, 10 hours, ouch... but im sure they will have better chargers soon. i had a fright today though. i was changing my settigns on the esc and transmitter. i had set it to race mode. i went out to run it. it could go forword but not backwords. i freaked!!! . i thought i had burned out my 140$ toy!. i went to propuls's website to read the sugestions, there i learned that in race mode, there was no reverse. "woo" {wipes forhead}..overall this is a great product!! +++++

Too help with faster charges you should get yourself a peak charger..........so this way you will have to wait 40-45 minutes before going on the next run.....and getting more batts will also help in having fun.:D

the only problem is the plug
im scared of switching plugs after a lipo accident :(
alfred
12-16-2006, 09:31 PM
Well since your not dealing with lipos it should be easy for you to change out the stock plugs to deans ultra's.:D

yeah i got my Pro-100B about a month ago. i have put the aluminum shocks, changed motors, and got the street tires on it. i know this is an old post but i had to comment. Radio Shack now has a ton of accesories for this thing. Also, when you buy one, you get free tires, battery, charger, bumpers, and high speed motor. :o
i have mine running the stock high torque motor with the high speed sprocket off the other motor they gave me.
also, the Team Associated R16B is what the propulse is made after. 90% of the parts from this car will fit your propulse. i am getting one of the motors soon...
i have pics of my modded car at www.myspace.com/asimmons04 in my photos
