Why would you consider another one? There's the JWERKS micro BL ESC. I hear it can control a BL like a brushed motor... It's not very popular, but I suppose if you know someone with it you could ask them about it.

maybe my esc is only moving the servo because it doesnt have enough battery life... do you think that could be the problem

The ESC doesn't control the servos, the receiver does that. Have you charged your battery? Try that before anything. Many electrical problems can be solved with a simple charge of a battery.
