track.. 10th scale ,, large jumps,, two doubles,, one small triple and one large quad which noone was able to do so it became a triple single.. and a large table top.. my latest video on youtube shows the track layout..
buggy set up.. 3racing mini-t shocks in front.. outer hole used on shock tower.. 70wt shock oil on all fours.. crime fighters soaked overnight in wd40 in a plastic bag.. btw i could not get the mini cooper wheels to fit... the tamiya ones...
i also changed the servo to a JRacing 4750,, something a lil faster than stock.
race,, i was racing with 10th scale novice trucks and buggy..
if anyone has seen a monster jam show,, then you know what i was feeling.. very small..
first qual.... started second in the pack and took the hole shot after the first turn,,, kept the lead through the entire qual and i almost lapped someone,, which i actually think i did.. didnt not turn over if i recall.. there were about 6 of us on the track if i recall correctly ,,,, almost a perfect run. my fastest lap was about 29 seconds.
second qual.. i started second to last ,,,, and again worked my way up front and stayed there.. this one was a lil more challenging,,, but i was able to keep the first plce.. i did turn over but thanks to some good marshalling i was able to get back on my feet in a hurry..
a-main,,,, had the TQ spot.. the buzzer sounded and everyone caught up to me,, but i left them,, and stayed ahead for a while ,, until i crashed,, but that wasnt a problem.. ,, the problem came when the second place person (a buggy) was on my tail,, and i flipped over.. a particular marshall took his sweet time WALKING OVER TO MY CAR TO TURN IT OVER.. this cost me big time,, but i was able to catch up.. and then again my car flips over.. and guess next to which marshall.. i swear this guy was on vacation or something.. sitting in a lawn chair swipping on tea... HE WALKS OVDER TO MY LIL ITTY BITTY TINY BUGGY AND TRIES KICKING IT OVER,, 2 attempts.. this put me in second for good,, and there was no way i could catch up..
overall,, i had a good time.. it was my first race and i enjoyed it,, i was surprised to see the buggy handle so well..
hey alfred,, those plastic a-arms hold well,, i was landing way too hard and the scrubbing is what tore them off the hinges.. but they are a cheap and easy replacement
