wraith 7k.. holy moly.. i love this motor,, 12/49 is the gearing,,
yokomo
20mm wheels with crime fighter tires,, street asphalt,, default
settings on
esc,,

8000k mamba,,, pros- fast very fast,, down the back straight at my
local
track,, it would pop wheelies,, on the street it wouldnt.. 12/49 is
the
highest gearing i could reach.. to have lots of user power and speed..
cons- hot,, very very hot after use.. so hot that the bright green can
is
now olive green,, and only after a short use. the motor stopped
working...
and might have sent a bad signal to the esc because it stopped working
as
well..

7k wraith,, pros- fast.. usable fast,, tons of power.. and will do a
rolling wheelie on asphalt with no problems.. it even did a wheelie on
a
slick surface (the driveway is coated with some sort of concrete
paint),,
very cool to touch (you know exactly what i mean,, not extremely hot)
along
with esc.. from the temps after a complete run i could probably step up
to a
lower final drive for more top end, which i dont think i need..
cons- might wheelie continuosly while on the track do to traction ,,
will
bald tires on asphalt,, might easily over shoot a lot of the 10th scale
jumps...

i actually can not wait to get to the track to try this out...
hopefully
there will be a new layout and i will be able to try out some new jumps
i
hope something bi and nasty just to impress myself...

basically if you want speed and you dont want to destroy your mamba
8000
motor then give the 7k a try,, it is a 400 size can and offers the
same
user power as a 400 motor,, unlike the the much smaller mamba ,,

settings are mamba default.. and it is cool... ice cold compared to the 8000 that i had in there,,, after playing with some equations i might even be able to go to 13/45 but that would be way too much ,, even 16/45 looks do-able.. but that would be insane

well the motor ran great.. yes it did get hot,, but i was expecting that.. i also changed to a 13t pinion and it ran fine..

track conditions sucked arse.. it was mostly blue groove and i had a hard time getting traction in certain areas..

but the motor wroked great.. once the track layout is changed and the dirt is soft and fresh then i will know for sure.. i was wanting to race this friday but i dont think i can keep up with intermediate stock 10th scale trucks,, i would get owned for sure... and those brand new crime fighters.. they helped a lil but not a whole lot..

i should have a heat sink for the motor on the way sometimee this week..

not happy because the track SUCKED..lol.. like driving on concrete.. too blue for me..

and i did break an a-arm.. landed too hard off the big jump..lol..lol. but atleast i was able to run about 3 full packs.. so i can say i had a good run.. others out there were impressed.. but i still have some work to do on it.. along with repairs..lol..
