The engine is a OSMAX .10 (1.7cc)
It will be geared with a 35 pinion and 36 spur
It must reach 80+ :D

You should look at how the XRAY Nitro 1/18th is setup to give you ideas on how to set it up.

The chassis is 2.5mm, very thick.

Because my M18 is already much different than the original I will decide my own setup and Xray can better take a look at my M18-setup. I can alter camber and caster so I can give the car a better setup.

Its going to be nice man......about how long do you think this project is going to take you to finish.....isnt the motor from the Nm18 a .05. On the chassis are you going to round off the edges like on the stock chassis....

Yep, the original NT18 motor is half the size as this one so it is gonna be fun :D A slight detail, Serpent did use the same motor on their very 1st 10th scale named Impact, if it can power an 1700 gram 10th scale car it should handle with easy an 700 gram 18th scale car.

The chassis will be niced up during the building.
As exhaust I have to get the one of the NT18T and I have an idea to make a brakesystem.

And summer is starting here so I hope to have a nice fundrive car beside my 8th scale racingcar.

Hey Roelof, do you think a chassis like that will do for the electric version....mainly for bashing and the likes....

Silver Supra

Kool... Make sure to add a roll cage or something like that that will fit under the body. It looks like it will traction roll a lot.

alfred
05-06-2006, 01:35 PM
I dont think that it will be needed....not a lot of space on there man.....and knowing Roelof he wont traction roll a lot......he knows how to set up his rides.;)

Roelof

I had to much traction roll, had to much grip in the front, Now I am using 50 shore in front and the car is awesome.

Yes, you can try to use an aluminium chassis for bashing but Epoxy is much easyer to make and cheap.

The only reason why i said that was because i was hoping you could make me one......i will pay you for it of course....:D

good idea. doesn't the nt18 chassis have some extra tweaking options as well?

Big-Kid

That would be a decent idea if the NT18 chassis will bolt right up. Are all of the holes gonna line up properly?

The NT18 chassis does use what Xray terms as "flexable" and adjustable. You are supposed to be able to tighten a screw for more stiffness, and lossen it for more flexability. I suppose the looser you run it, will be for surfaces where there is less traction.

what is the weight difference between the nt18 and the m18? is a standard m18 setup going to be heavy enough to use the thicker aluminum chassis properly? also, i don't think the chassis has the correct motor mount holes, though that could be remedied quickly!;)

I had some time and made an adapter for fitting the exhaust to the engine:
