Tomy 1/28 Aero R/C ?

Has anyone seen one of these before?

its a really interesting critter!

My girlfriend went to Japan for a class over spring break, and brought me back this toy :)

It's a kit, much like a plastic static model snap together kit.

It uses a 130 mini-z style motor to power it, AND to steer it (very weird steering setup).

all I get from the box is:
1050 yen
Aero R/C Series No. 09
requires pliars/screwdriver
27mhz
6 way (forward/reverse left + right)
2 speed (switch on bottom of car, lo/hi)

I havent driven it yet :)

Never seen one of those before....does the lid come off to expose the chassis....:p

of course, it was a kit after-all.

I'm a bit too lazy at the moment to go get my camera out of my car, but I'll try to take some pics of the funky steering setup later.

basically the steering uses a 130 motor, with a plastic 2 shoe clutch mounted on it, then a pinion gear on top of that, and a slider with teeth on it that the motor would move back and forth. Over steering and 'servo saving' duties would be taken care of by the *clutch* on the motor.
