First off, EVERYTHING went together well and the quality of the parts feels top notch. On top of everything, Country Alloy Works has given me first rate customer service:D .
The stance of the chassis and extended axels combined with the 2.2" wheels is to me, stunning. It really gives it a "new look". But like I have been saying, it also is pushing the envolope of "18th sacle"
The chassis is tiff and strong. The added weight does not seem to be much more over stock. The ladder bars and bumpers are a nice tough. The bumper design and shine are excellent.
You will need to re-look at your current lid. The stock lis fits, but some of the shorter lids that fit the stock MLST, may not now. The holes in the stock lid will onlny line up for one side. Either the front or rear, but not both at the same time. This just means that you will need to drill a pair of new holes where you chose, front or rear.

This is with the Hitec 85MG servos installed. The chassis was made to accept Hitec 81 servo's or other simliarly sized servos. Bbbbuuuuttt:rolleyes: , at the time, I couldn't find any locally. So the next, best option were a pair of Hitec 85MG's:D . Plus, you guiys should know me by now. I'm always up to a "little modifing" :p :D . The LHS owner actually cut me a good $ on them and they did not require much work to get them in there.

Kimbrough savers with the stock steering slider installed. These needed NO MOD's to get in:D . I was happy with that fact:p .
I just needed to test fit and re-work the set-up a couple f times, but they went very easily.
I like the Kimbrough saver, and have had favorable results with it on my M18.
I decided to install the bar holding the 2 servos together to elimante any chance of them not turning the same at any given time. Plus having it drop right in makes it a no-brianer:D
I have more pix of the chassis before it was installed. I just need to work on getting them re-sized for you guys
Hope you guys enjoy them:cool:

O.K. it's working now!
I never thought about taking a comparison pic when I changed mine over! hehehe
I think I asked you on the other side? But does the CAW chassis still have the front kick up like the stock chassis setup?
I know on the stock chassis it is from the side rails. But since the CAW kit replaces the stock plastic rails, just wondering if it still give the front kick up?

Yupers they do. That was a good question and point to make to;) .
No one else can really replace the stock ladder bars without also selling new skids. They both seemed to have the same angle on them. The rear skid plate is just longer.
I like the stiffness the green springs are adding. Much more reponsive now. But one of the shocks are squeaking now:rolleyes: . Some oil must be missing in it:cool:

Yeah I was glad I was able to see this chassis in person!
It looks really good! And also glad that they did add the kickup in front! Kind of funny though that they added it to the back as well?
Does the rear actually sit with the rear bumper kind of facing up now? Or does it still sit flat?
Now I'll have to go check my MLST to see if the rear sits flat or at an angle?hehehe
After seeing this chassis in person it really has me wanting to get one!!! I'm just wondering if he will ever offer the chassis by itself?
As I don't need the axle kit, and the tires he's offering are not for me!hehehe
And I figure I can ask you to see if you can hook me up with some 85mg's to!hehehe;)

Shot of the rear of the truck. The bumpers are identical front and rear, as well as the skid (except for the added length of the front skid).
I used the B4 wing mount and Half 8 wing. They both went on straight foreword, no mod's required. All you would need are the appropiate screws and to section out the rear of your lid for clearence.

Thanks Carmatic:D
The CAW extended axels with hex hub will allow you to run the 2.2" 10th scale rims that accept a 12mm hex hub. Some of the 10th scale electric buggy rims will also fit the CAW axels. They will slip onto the axel, but without the CAW hex. The hole in the center of the rim fit's the CAW axel fine. The buggy rim and tire combo maybe a better race set-up. This will be due to their lower side wall and lighter weight.
Yah the CAW homepage does need a make over. They offer(ed) a bunuch of products for many, different line-ups. One of their biggest obsticles is time:eek: . FRank and his son are great guys, but that basically makes up their work force. Frank says it is a 2 man show there, so they try to ballance things as best as they can. When their MLST stuff hit Ebay, they had a ton of orders to fill. With their extensive quality control procedures, finishing parts before they shipped takes up alot of time for them. But, that means excellent parts for us consumers:D .
Like Xtant wa saying though, a single deck race MLST chassis would be an excellent idea;) . Deffinate Muggy or Truggy heritage:cool:

just plonked down for a set of hot racing 1/10 hubs from killerhobbies http://www.killerhobbies.com/Browse_Item_Details.asp/Item_ID/451182/categ_id/120/parent_ids/0,90,91,120/Name/Hot_Racing_110_wheel_conversion_hub_-_Mini-LST_-_MLT10M08_, what i really want to do is avoid the 'getting stuck in snow' thing from happening as you can see from this (http://www.one18th.com/gallery/albums/album01/afgt.mpg) video...
so what wheels are going to fit on these...
like, i thought i could only buy stuff from killerhobbies because they ship worldwide, caw themselves might not...

Email CAW and ask if they will ship to you. Where are you at by the way?
I "hear" killers is pretty good. Never boughten from them beore. They were one of the places that was one of the first places to stock MLST hop-ups. So they have been in the "MLST game" from the start of things. They used to post at "the other side". They post more at rc-uni.
The CAW hex adaptors for the MLST will allow you to run most 10th scale truck type wheels. I say "most", because it needs to accept or use a 12mm hex inside of the wheel. Not all of them do. There are a TON of tire options in that size.
