hello,
being a newbie here for sure, please along with my bill explain the benefits I will gain from a better batt. along with my purchase of the mini lst I bought a spare batt and the quick charger. Seems the standard batt lasts and performs better. I still am very pleased with the performace of this truck as it gives me about 20-30 minutes of fun.

Higher Dishcarge rates = better punch

Higher voltage under loads = longer runtimes, longer punchy feel.

can I run an 11.1 v with stock electronics? I heard that it can melt stock conectors and speed contol

UNITED_RC
01-11-2006, 11:52 AM
and you will melt your ESC too!

:)

Most stock electronics can only handle/rated for 6-cells. You might be able to get away with running 7.

What truck/car do you have?

Whats the difference between the 32 and 42 Sport packs performance wise? Anything?

Its a mini lst and I wont be doing electronics upgrade until later but I want as much power as I can get out of my stock equipment. I want to know where my $ will be best spent.

Barely noticeable.

We have had some comments back from customer stating that they "saw" a preformance improvement with the 32 style.

Well...an upgrade in battery packs will give you a NOTICABLE improvement right off the bat.

that would probably be your cheapest upgrade, but see a difference in the truck.

I have a couple of good packs I have been running with my mini t but it seems the mlst runs them down pretty quick so I was thinking of a 1200 mah or a 2 cell lipo I dont know wich would be better?

UNITED_RC
01-11-2006, 11:23 PM
you will not really see any huge runtime increase using 1200 nimh over 1100

look at a 7.4v lipo that you can fit in it.......higher the mah..the longer the runtimes!

Dont put anything more than 7.4v with the stock electronics

Hi,
i was wondering about getting a special pack made. I want a 6 cell pack but in the config. at the bottom. It will be going UNDER the mini lst chassis between the bottom of the chassis and the skid's it will be basicly a SADDLE PACK, to run on each side of the tranny. If you could give me some price's of this or if you need more pics of what i am talking about email me at biggizmo928@yahoo.com Please email me with price's and what kind of cells will be in the pack. I dont check here that much cuz i forget too :( so PLEASE email me. thanks

I have modified my M-LST with twin 3 cell 1100 mah sticks under the deck each side.Ball Diff the Ctr Diff. Trinity Slipper.
Cabon fiber rear upper deck long enuff, forward to carry the Rec'. Put the ESC on the lower deck and toss the Batt holder...We Race on a Foam Tile track and the only way to traction roll is with the rear diff locked

Stray dog, I was wondering how you secured the batteries under the chasis?

Or anybody who has mounted a battery under the chasis. How is it secured?

UNITED_RC

I would think by way of velcro and zip ties would be sufficient

thanks for the tip URC.
I just tried to build a battery pack that would fit under the chasis but couldnt see how it wold work.
Does anybody have pics they could post?
I am looking to do 8 cells.

Dont need anything to secure then. With any shrink tube on the cells the bottom ctr plate will need to bend @1mm to come tight to side rail's,holding 4 cells tight.
[c/f or stk]
Two of us are running this set up, we did use zip ties at first but found no need for them
I use a rigid solid wire for the joiner infront of the diff.
solder it on with the batts in place and it keeps them tight to side rail.Practicaly snaps into place for pack chgs

you could actually run up to 10 cells...

4 down below
6-up top in the standard config.

thanks for th tip urc. I might just make the switch to lipos I just don't want to spend the money!

Oh snap, 10 cells:eek: . That would be nuts. More so if you ran the new 1400 cells;)

Can only 4 cells underneth? I thought some of the guys ran the regular 6? That would let you run 6 under, and 6 over:eek: Have you had thoughts of 12 Jon;) :D

I thought the bl motors were only rated for 10 cells. I am running 8 and its crazy fast but top heavy. If I don't switch to lipos soon I will need to move some of my cells down for sure.

UNITED_RC

Actually....the Mamba is rated up to 12 cells:

4-12 NiCad/NiMH
2-3 LiPo

hi,
this is probably a stupid question but, will the 1570 mah 11.1 volt
li-po battery listed on your website fit in the xray m18?

also i was wondering if i could use two lipo batterys at once and increase the mah but not the voltage?

Big-Kid

Not sure about your first question, but i'm sure Jon will be able to help you with that one.

Yes is the answer to your second question. That would be wiring your pack in parrallel:cool:

1. The 1570 is a bit too wide to fit the M18 Chassis. We will have new "narrow form factor" that will fit the width..i just need to test the length. The mAh will be approx 2000mAh

2. Yes...that is called wiring in parallel. This increases the mAh number, but not the voltage.

When do you think you might have the 2000 mah in stock?
