I built a little track for my Micro on the attic. The area is approx. 3,40 x 5,30 m that's 11 x 18 ft. It's a concrete surface which already has some grip after the first thousand rounds.
Im not finished yet, i'm going to make the outer shape within the next 4 weeks and i am still looking for a suitable way to make guardrail, any ideas?
Also will i put some green carpet on the plates to have a better contrast to the concrete (cheaper for me than buying color).

(does it mean in or on the attic? Don't know plz. tell me, is this a common word anyway?)

I would look at some sort of plastic "wall/Corner" molding. This will be CHEAP, and since it is plasic, you will be able to bend it (turns).

you could always just use plastic plumbing tubing, with curved joints ....that would be cheap too!

Yes, the hairpin is about 2 1/2 the straight almost 3feet (85cm) wide.
Right now it's a bit hard to drive because of the poor contrast between the track and the barriers.

And what are you going to do? Stay there or move to a less harmful place?:(

well right now we have relocated to a safer place, but we are in the process of getting the house ready to be fixed. we had 8 feet of water. but we are also looking at buying another house in a safer area for me and my sister to use and stay at for colledge. and it will serve as a evacation house for my parents

Will any insurance pay for this?

microRS4guy
11-01-2005, 05:15 PM
nope... we had a "hurricane" policy, but not flood insurance so they arent paying for it.

when you think hurricane you think wind and water, but the idots dont want to pay they just want your money

Ok, back to topic.
I've got a little update on my track. Who will see it first?

Dude you need to get a drift car up there. That track is just begging for some sideways action.

Well, it was a drift track in the beginning because there was so much dust even after vacuum cleaning it twice.
But i can try some shrink wrap on a set of worn out tires. ;)

Now, after some thousands of laps, grip is quite good.
I can go approx. 300 laps with one batt (laptime ~5,5 - 6 sec)

But i really have to do something on the walls. I'm thinking of a kind of a Skybox maybe Bayview... :D :D

Another drift tire solution is to purchase 2" pvc piping at a home fix-it-up store.

If my memory serves me correctly, you cut the tubing down to the tire width you want...and slide it on the hubs (CA them to the hubs, small drops, so you can remove when they are worn down).
